Functional Leader 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥 – 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗦 / 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 & 𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 We are looking for an experienced 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 to lead the implementation of a cloud-based Energy Management System (VEMS) and Power Plant Controller (PPC) for a grid-connected Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). You will manage requirements, suppliers, engineering, industrial networks, cybersecurity, DSO and aggregator integration, testing, commissioning and handover. The role ensures that the complete control and communication solution meets technical, safety, regulatory, grid, operational, schedule and quality requirements. 𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦 * Manage the project from requirements and design through implementation, testing, commissioning, acceptance and handover * Maintain scope, budget, schedule, risks, resources, governance, reporting and change control * Coordinate BESS, VEMS, PPC, network, cybersecurity, DSO, aggregator and site-operation stakeholders * Manage interfaces between BMS, PCS/inverters, VEMS, PPC, DSO systems and aggregator platforms * Lead requirements breakdown, acceptance criteria, traceability, design reviews and technical decision-making * Coordinate VEMS and PPC functionality, including dispatch, state-of-charge management, active and reactive power control, ramp-rate limits, frequency response, curtailment, alarms and fallback behaviour * Coordinate DSO and aggregator interfaces, submissions, witness testing, operational trials, approvals and issue resolution * Supervise network implementation, including switches, cabling, VLANs, routing, redundancy, time synchronisation, firewalls and secure remote access * Lead FAT, SAT, integrated, grid-compliance, cybersecurity, performance and operational testing * Manage test evidence, deviations, defects, corrective actions, retesting and final acceptance * Ensure complete handover of approved documentation, procedures, backups, configurations and training materials 𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦 * Project execution plan, schedule, risk register and responsibility matrix * Requirements and traceability/compliance matrix * VEMS/PPC functional requirements and control philosophy * DSO and aggregator interface plans * Network architecture, topology, IP/VLAN schedules, port maps and firewall documentation * Verification, validation and test strategy * FAT, SAT, commissioning, grid-compliance, cybersecurity and performance-test documentation * DSO and aggregator approval records * Operating procedures, training material and final handover dossier 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 & 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬 * Experience managing complex power, automation or control-system projects * Proven experience with requirements management, testing, validation, acceptance and technical interfaces * Experience coordinating with a DSO, TSO, utility, grid owner, aggregator, flexibility provider or energy-market platform * Practical knowledge of grid-connected BESS, EMS/PPC, PCS, metering, protection, power quality and grid-support functions * Experience with end-to-end testing across cloud platforms, industrial networks, firewalls, EMS/PPC, BESS and grid interfaces * Ability to manage setpoint priorities, operating limits, response times, availability, cybersecurity and communication-loss behaviour * Strong project management and stakeholder coordination capability * Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience 𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘-𝗧𝗢-𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 * Knowledge of flexibility services * Experience with ancillary services * Experience with reserve and balancing services * Knowledge of energy markets 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 Success means achieving full requirements traceability, safe and compliant DSO and aggregator integration, successful completion of all required testing and approvals, timely closure of issues and a complete operational handover.
