Own the global standard for how product structure flows from engineering release to execution on the factory floor across all Gas Power technologies and factories. Standardize, simplify, and automate manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM), router, asset structure, and kitting workflows, so every site builds one trusted structure in product lifecycle management (PLM) and ERP. Serves as business lead for manufacturing structure requirements in the Teamcenter PLM upgrade, then sustains and extends the standard through a network of local owners at each factory. Partners with Engineering Configuration Management, site manufacturing engineering, Factory Planning, Digital Technology, and DPE New Technology Introduction.
Key Responsibilities
Own the Global E2M Standard
- Define and maintain the global standards for MBOM structure, router templates, asset structures, and kitting and point-of-use structures across gas turbine, generator, steam turbine, and HRSG, with controls to be confirmed.
- Define the rules for transforming the engineering bill of materials into the manufacturing bill of materials: who restructures, when, and what assignments are allowed.
- Set the standards for engineering change and effectivity (unit, serial, or date) and the target turnaround from engineering change to ERP.
- Keep standards at the process level so they stay valid if the ERP changes. Partner with Digital Technology on system-specific configuration.
Simplify and Automate the Flow
- Reduce product structure complexity: fewer levels, fewer custom objects, and common modules across technologies. Converge local site practices into one global way of working, and lead the multi-year path toward standard, configurable MBOMs and routers.
- Own the roadmap for automating MBOM creation, change propagation, and PLM-to-ERP synchronization. Prioritize using measured manual effort, not opinion.
- Partner with DPE New Technology Introduction on lightweight automation, AI-assisted workflows, and kitting technology, and with Digital Technology on platform enhancements. This role owns the standard and the requirement; the partners own the technology.
Govern Data and Integration
- Define the PLM-to-ERP handoff standard on one principle: PLM owns the definition and ERP owns execution. Define which attributes are authored in each system and the data quality rules for manufacturing product data.
- Run the review of site deviations. Permitted variation is limited to legal, regulatory, or customer-contractual reasons; other gaps are closed by updating the global standard.
- Prevent parallel sources of truth, such as local spreadsheet loaders that bypass the system of record.
- Agree the boundaries with Factory Planning, which owns how routers are used in planning and production orders, and with New Technology Introduction, which owns kitting technology, so decision rights are clear.
Lead the PLM Program Requirements and Drive Adoption
- Act as business lead for manufacturing structure requirements in the Teamcenter upgrade across all technologies. Lead user acceptance testing strategy, test cases, and test data, support defect triage with Digital Technology and the system integrator and define go-live readiness for manufacturing structures including data migration.
- Use the testing outputs and training materials as the first version of the global standard and own the prioritized post-go-live enhancement backlog, justified by measured effort.
- Establish a named local E2M owner at each factory and lead that network. Own global training, work instructions, and train-the-trainer delivery.
- Track adoption of the standard by site and the manufacturing results it drives: MBOM release cycle time, engineering change to ERP turnaround, BOM accuracy, BOM-driven shortages and kitting errors, and the share of manual work automated.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Information Systems, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience with EBOM and MBOM structures, routings, and engineering change management in complex, engineered-to-order or configured manufacturing.
- Experience with PLM (Teamcenter preferred), Dassault GTCC PLM familiarity desired and ERP (SAP and/or Oracle), including the transfer of BOM data from PLM to ERP.
- Experience participating in or leading a PLM or ERP implementation, including user acceptance testing.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with Teamcenter manufacturing, including MBOM and bill of process.
- Background in gas turbines, generators, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Experience with workflow automation or data integration tools.
- Experience developing training and delivering train-the-trainer programs.
- Demonstrated ability to define standards and drive adoption across multiple sites without direct authority.
- Thinks in systems across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, and prefers standard, simple solutions over customization.
- Influential leader who builds alignment across global sites and functions and communicates clearly with both frontline users and senior leaders.
