Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HR and payroll professional to join a long-term project for our Japanese partner company in Nagoya. The role focuses on supporting the implementation and operation of an HR / payroll package. This position is ideal for candidates with practical experience in payroll calculation and year-end tax adjustment (年末調整), as well as basic database skills. Extensive IT experience is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for HR/payroll professionals who are interested in developing their careers in the IT field.

Requirements

Experience

Practical experience in payroll calculation (給与計算)
Experience with year-end tax adjustment (年末調整)
Experience working with databases or basic database knowledge
Previous experience with HR / payroll systems or packages is preferred
Extensive IT experience is not required

Language

Japanese: Business-level communication skills required

Nice to Have

Experience implementing or operating HR / payroll packages
Experience with SQL or database-related tasks
Experience working with Japanese HR, payroll, or labor management systems
Interest in developing a career in HR technology / IT

Responsibilities

Support the implementation and operation of HR / payroll packages
Support system configuration based on HR and payroll requirements
Analyze and organize customer requirements related to payroll and HR operations
Support payroll calculation and year-end tax adjustment processes within the system
Work with databases to check, maintain, and manage employee and payroll-related data
Perform data validation, testing, and troubleshooting
Communicate with customers and project members in Japanese
Prepare and maintain system-related documents and operational procedures

Important Notes

This position is open only to applicants currently residing in Japan who hold a valid engineer work visa or another appropriate work status.
Business-level Japanese communication skills are required.
Candidates with payroll and year-end tax adjustment experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Extensive IT experience is not required; candidates with strong HR/payroll expertise and an interest in IT are welcome.
