Lead Nurse (Veterinary)

𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 | 𝐀𝐛𝐮 𝐃𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥

Abu Dhabi Equine and Camel Hospital is looking for an experienced Lead Nurse to lead our nursing team and help us deliver exceptional care to horses and camels.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞

You will combine hands-on clinical nursing with team leadership, overseeing day-to-day nursing operations, rota management, training and quality standards. You will work closely with our veterinarians and the Head of Clinical Services, and you will be the first point of escalation for nursing staff during emergency and out-of-hours cases.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

•Lead, supervise and develop our Veterinary Technicians and nurses across all shifts

•Manage the nursing rota, leave schedule and emergency cover

•Set and uphold nursing standards, protocols and infection control and biosecurity practices

•Oversee inpatient care, treatments, medication administration and accurate nursing records

•Support surgery, anaesthesia, diagnostics and emergency cases

•Manage stock levels, controlled-drug procedures and equipment standards

Train, assess and mentor nursing staff and students

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫

•Diploma or degree in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Nursing or a related field

•Any licence or registration required for practice in Abu Dhabi

•Minimum 5 years of experience as a veterinary nurse or technician, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role

•Strong experience with horses, camels or other large animals in a hospital or referral setting

•Surgical, anesthetic, intensive-care and emergency nursing experience

•Proven leadership, organization and communication skills

•Good spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
