Job Description – Maintenance Technician



Location: UAE , Ras Al-Khaimah


Department: Engineering & Maintenance
Industry: Plastic Manufacturing – Bottles, Cans & Caps
Experience Required: 2–6 Years
Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a relevant trade
Salary: As per company standards

Job Purpose

To maintain production machines and utilities in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting machine breakdowns, supporting root-cause analysis, and following approved maintenance and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend breakdowns of injection moulding, blow moulding, EBM/IBM, printing, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and component replacements as per approved checklists.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.

  • Maintain and support compressors, air dryers, chillers, pumps, and cooling-water systems.

  • Inspect and troubleshoot motors, sensors, control panels, contactors, starters, VFDs/servos, PLC/HMI systems, and interlocks, as applicable.

  • Maintain hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, pneumatic systems, solenoid valves, and pressure circuits.

  • Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), PPE, electrical isolation, and machine guarding.

  • Maintain maintenance job cards, spare-parts consumption records, and shift handover documentation.

  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce repeated machine breakdowns.

  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager for spare parts, major repairs, and technical issues.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–6 years of experience in industrial maintenance; plastic manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of injection moulding, blow moulding, EBM/IBM machines, and related auxiliary equipment.

  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, couplings, alignment, lubrication, motors, sensors, and control circuits.

  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, VFD/servo systems, and automation components.

  • Ability to use a multimeter and other approved testing equipment safely.

  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, teamwork, and documentation skills.

  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance procedures.
