Manufacturing MOS Section Manager (m/f/d)

In this role you will play a central role in managing a section-level organization, leading a team of up to 20 people. Ensure smooth daily operations, improve team efficiency, and achieve organizational goals, while also developing team members' skills and fostering employee growth and teamwork.

As part of this position, you will have the unique opportunity to complete a comprehensive up to 9-month training assignment at our mother fab in Taiwan. This immersive program equips you with deep hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes, systems, production operations, and governance according to TSMCs word-leading practice — providing the foundation to operate independently and at expert level upon your return to Germany. The training will start shortly after the start date.

Job Responsibilities

  • Production Capacity & Flow Management: Responsible for monitoring and managing production capacity in assigned areas (e.g., Lithography). Collaborate with engineering modules to resolve manufacturing bottlenecks, ensure smooth production flow, and drive capacity or system improvement projects to optimize cycle time.
  • Fab Operations & Process Expertise: Possess a robust understanding of semiconductor wafer fab manufacturing processes and concepts. Apply this expertise to solve operational challenges, working closely with the process, equipment, integration, and manufacturing departments to achieve overall production targets.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: Utilize diverse information sources—including industry best practices, academic research, and vendor technical data—to analyze complex and dynamic situations. Effectively filter and prioritize data to ensure production quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a section-level team, ensuring high work quality, peak performance, and alignment with the department’s strategic production goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Influence: Demonstrate exceptional internal and external communication skills. Lead cross-functional teams, manage relationships with external suppliers, persuade and influence key stakeholders, and effectively handle complex or sensitive information.

Your profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics/Applied Physics, Automation/Control Systems Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including several years in a leadership or people-management role.
  • Leadership & Problem Solving: Proven track record of participating in or leading team projects and daily operations, with demonstrated strength in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong experience in cross-departmental collaboration and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Global Training: Ability and willingness to undergo on-the-job training in Taiwan for up to 9 months.
  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English is required; German language capability is highly advantageous.

  • Company Pension Plan & Financial Benefits: We support your financial well-being with our robust company pension plan. As an ESMC employee, you also benefit directly from TSMC’s performance through an exclusive Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
  • Relocation Support for Dresden: Moving for us? We’ll provide you with all the support you will need for your relocation and your start in Dresden.
  • Training & Development: Depending on your position, you will gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved in operating complex semiconductor equipment through unique hands-on training at the TSMC Newcomer Training Center, while continuously expanding your knowledge.
  • Health & Well-Being: An annual budget for your health and well-being (e.g., for sports classes, massages, or relaxation) helps you stay fit.
