Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • [4–7]+ years of marketing experience, with at least [2] years in retail and/or sports industry.
  • Proven track record of driving retail traffic and sales through multi-channel campaigns.

Skills & Competencies

  • Passion for sports and strong understanding of the sports retail consumer.
  • Experience with local store marketing, events, sponsorships, and community partnerships.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools: Google Analytics, Meta Ads, email/SMS platforms, CRM, and POS reporting.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and budget management skills.
  • Ability to travel, work occasional weekends, and attend sports events.


  • Key Responsibilities

Retail & Omnichannel Marketing

  • Develop and execute annual and seasonal marketing plans for retail stores and e-commerce.
  • Drive foot traffic through local store marketing, geo-targeted digital ads, email, SMS, direct mail, and community outreach.
  • Coordinate in-store promotions, window displays, signage, POS materials, and product launch activations.
  • Optimize omnichannel customer journeys, including BOPIS, curbside pickup, ship-from-store, and loyalty programs.
  • Manage vendor co-op marketing and brand partnership funds with athletic brands such as [Nike, Adidas, New Balance, etc.].

Sports Community & Event Marketing

  • Plan and execute sports-related events: fun runs, tournaments, demo days, athlete meet-and-greets, clinics, and training sessions.
  • Build partnerships with local teams, leagues, schools, gyms, coaches, race organizers, and sports influencers.
  • Manage sponsorships and community activations that build credibility with athletes and sports families.
  • Represent the brand at races, expos, leagues, and key sporting events.

Campaigns, Content & Digital

  • Lead seasonal campaigns around back-to-school, holiday, spring sports, marathon season, and major sports moments.
  • Create content that showcases products in action, athlete stories, customer testimonials, and training tips.
  • Manage social media, influencer/athlete partnerships, email marketing, and paid digital campaigns.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all retail, digital, and community touchpoints.


Analytics, Budget & Reporting

  • Track KPIs such as store traffic, conversion rate, average basket size, sales, ROAS, loyalty signups, and e-commerce revenue.
  • Use POS data, Google Analytics, CRM, and social insights to measure campaign performance.
  • Manage the retail marketing budget and vendor co-op funds, reporting ROI to leadership.
  • Run A/B tests on offers, creative, audiences, and messaging to improve results.


Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a small marketing team, interns, or external agencies.
  • Partner with store managers, buying, merchandising, e-commerce, and sales teams.
  • Train store staff on marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand messaging.


English Proficiency is compulsory; French, Spanish or Portuguese is a must
