Mid-Level Software Engineer, Marketplace Infrastructure

About the Role

Join a growth infrastructure team building the systems that power expert acquisition, assessment, onboarding, and project matching at scale. You will develop the platform and tools that help a specialist marketplace operate more efficiently, with opportunities to expand into machine learning-driven recommendations.

What You'll Do

• Build and own marketplace infrastructure for expert outreach, interviewing, assessments, and onboarding.

• Develop tools to manage experts and match them to projects based on fit and availability.

• Create automations and internal tools that replace manual workflows and improve operational throughput.

• Work with growth partners to identify bottlenecks, measure funnel performance, and deliver practical improvements.

• Help develop recommendation systems that anticipate expert needs and automate staffing workflows.

What We're Looking For

• Two to five years of full-stack software engineering experience, with a track record of owning projects end to end.

• Proficiency with Node.js or Python and experience working with Kubernetes.

• Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals.

• Experience building marketplace or growth infrastructure, ideally at a high-growth technology company.

• Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, or Elasticsearch is valuable.

• Experience with expert networks, human data, or AI training workflows is relevant.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $250,000 to $300,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, with work in the office five days per week.
