OB/GYN Hospitalist

• Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
• Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis (86th Street) - Women & Infants Hospital
• Schedule: Full-Time (24-hour and 12-hour shifts available)
• Annual Commitment: 78 24-hour shifts per year or 156 12-hour shifts per year

This job location is not currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

• Join an OB hospitalist team working in close collaboration with certified nurse-midwives, community OB/GYN attendings, and OB/GYN residents.
• Practice setting: Inpatient obstetrics, labor deck management, and GYN emergency coverage at Level IV Perinatal Center within the brand-new, state-of-the-art Women and Infants Hospital.
• Access to state-of-the-art surgical technology, including the da Vinci Surgical System and dedicated OB/GYN operating suites.
• Evaluate OB triage patients, manage unassigned deliveries, and provide emergency GYN surgical coverage (e.g., ectopic pregnancy, ovarian torsion).
• Mentor OB/GYN residents who provide robust frontline care management within a team-based teaching setting.
• Employed position within Ascension Medical Group.
• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

What additional preferences we’re seeking

• 3 years of clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Demonstrated surgical proficiency and comfort with emergency GYN surgical procedures (e.g., ectopic pregnancies and ovarian torsion).
• Comfort practicing in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level IV tertiary care environment with resident teaching responsibilities.
