NSOL-HIGH is seeking a Physical AI Research Engineer to contribute to advanced research and development in humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence.
This role focuses on the design and implementation of learning-based systems that connect perception, language, and action in physical robotic platforms. The position is research-driven, with an emphasis on building robust AI systems that can transition effectively from simulation to the real world.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Physical AI systems for humanoid robotic platforms
- Conduct research in Vision–Language–Action (VLA) models and embodied intelligence
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate sim-to-real pipelines for real-world deployment
- Work with robotic simulation environments and real-world experimental setups
- Contribute to experimental design, internal research documentation, and technical reports
Requirements
- University degree in robotics, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience implementing and training deep learning models using PyTorch
- Solid foundation in machine learning, robotics, or embodied AI
- Experience or strong interest in VLA models, reinforcement learning, or sim-to-real transfer
- Experience working in a Linux-based development environment
- Ability to work independently in a research-oriented environment
- Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotic simulators such as NVIDIA Isaac and/or MuJoCo
- Hands-on experience with real-world robotic systems or simulation-based research
- Research experience demonstrated through projects, publications, or open-source contributions
- Japanese language skills
