Job Description Registered Nurse-RN Labour & Delivery 12 hr night shift The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned. The L&D unit is a full service birthing center with 13 birthing suites where the RN will be responsible for antepartum, labor, delivery, post-partum, and mother-baby care. We are a BABY FRIENDLY hospital designated by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. Requirements Requires absolute minimum of 1 year experience as a licensed RN, in L&D (School clinical placements do not count towards this.) Bachelors preferred NCLEX VisaScreen (If you do not have this, please apply at www.cgfns.org unless you are American) CPR AQCLS preferred NRP Advanced Fetal Monitoring prior to end of orientation A minimum of 1 year of current labor and delivery experience is required. Must have knowledge of hemodynamics and basic IV skills, and a thorough understanding of fetal monitoring equipment and tracings. Excellent assessment skills, above average critical thinking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced often stressful environment and the ability to work autonomously are essential.
