Role Description The Retail Fuel Station Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Victoria, Australia. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the fuel station, including managing staff schedules, supervising service quality, and ensuring a safe, clean, and customer-focused environment. The manager monitors fuel and shop inventory, coordinates ordering and deliveries, and manages cash handling and reconciliation procedures. The role includes implementing promotional activities, maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and ensuring adherence to company policies and local legislation. The manager also analyzes sales performance, prepares routine operational reports, and works closely with senior management to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Experience in retail or service station management, including day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and customer service leadership.
  • Skills in inventory control, cash management, reconciliation, and basic budgeting or cost control.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to fuel and retail operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and support diverse teams.
  • Capability to use point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications for reporting, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a fuel station, convenience retail, or related industry is highly advantageous.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or certificate in retail management, business, or a related field is beneficial.
