About the Department
The Business Development team at Seven Peaks focuses on building strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving company growth. Working closely with the Marketing and Business Development teams, the SDR plays a key role in generating leads, engaging potential clients, and connecting them with the right experts to explore how Seven Peaks’ technology solutions can support their business needs.
About the Role
The SDR at Seven Peaks Software runs the top of our sales funnel. You find companies that need what we build, get their decision-makers on the phone, and book meetings for our BDMs. You work in our Pipedrive sales pipeline and follow our KES documented sales process standards.
This is a phone-first, people-first job. You will cold call strangers every day, hear "no" more often than "yes", and call again tomorrow. At our meetups and events you walk up to people you have never met, start the conversation, and leave with their business cards. If that sounds like fun, keep reading. If it sounds stressful, this role is not for you.
Responsibilities
- Cold Outreach & Prospecting: Conduct daily cold calls and reach potential clients through LinkedIn and email. Personalise outreach messages based on prospects’ roles, companies, and industries to generate new business opportunities.
- Prospect Research: Identify target companies and key decision-makers using LinkedIn, company databases, and other relevant sources. Gather contact details and research business profiles to support effective outreach.
- Events & Networking: Represent Seven Peaks at company meetups, networking events, and industry events. Initiate conversations with attendees, introduce the company’s services, identify potential business opportunities, and follow up with new contacts.
- Lead Qualification: Assess inbound and outbound leads against predefined criteria, identify qualified sales opportunities, and provide relevant prospect information to Business Development Managers (BDMs).
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule meetings between qualified prospects and BDMs, ensuring timely follow-ups and a smooth handover of lead information to support the sales process.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Pipedrive, including contact details, outreach activities, conversation notes, lead sources, and pipeline statuses.
- Sales Pipeline Support: Track prospect engagement, follow up on outstanding communications, and support the progression of leads through the sales pipeline, from initial outreach to scheduled meetings and qualified opportunities.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the Business Development and Marketing teams to align outreach activities, share lead insights, and ensure consistent communication throughout the sales process.
Qualifications — Required
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the confidence to engage prospects over the phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Comfortable making cold calls and initiating conversations with new prospects, including senior-level decision-makers.
- Outgoing, proactive, and resilient, with the ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
- Target-driven, motivated by measurable results, and committed to achieving daily outreach goals.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records.
- Strong follow-up and time-management skills to meet response timelines and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Good judgement and the ability to identify qualified leads and pass relevant opportunities to Business Development Managers (BDMs).
Qualifications — Preferred
- Previous experience in sales, telesales, business development, hospitality, retail, customer service, or other customer-facing roles.
- Interest in software, technology, cloud services, or digital products.
- Experience in cloud sales, particularly AWS (Amazon Web Services).
- Familiarity with CRM systems and lead management processes.
