Senior Engineer, Design

Our client is a Singapore-headquartered medical technology innovator shaping the future of endoscopic surgery. As an ISO 13485-certified design and development partner, it takes next-generation endoscopic devices from concept to commercialisation under one roof, with an FDA-cleared flexible video endoscope already on the market and new programmes in the pipeline. Backed by a precision medical device manufacturing group with four decades of engineering heritage, it combines cutting-edge R&D with world-class manufacturing to bring sharper diagnostics and better patient outcomes to clinicians worldwide.

It is now seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of its flexible endoscope systems, from concept through design transfer, in a role with real ownership and visible impact.

What you'll do

• Lead concept generation, mechanism design, detailed design and prototyping for flexible endoscope systems, subassemblies and accessories

• Design critical mechanisms such as distal-tip deflection, articulation wires, bending sections, insertion tubes, working channels, control handles and seals

• Create and review 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacks and BOMs

• Apply DFM and DFA, cost and reliability thinking from early concept to design release

• Lead design reviews, design FMEA, failure analysis and CAPA, and work with manufacturing on design transfer and pilot builds

• Mentor junior engineers, technicians and suppliers

What you'll bring

• Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical or Mechatronics Engineering (a Master's is a plus)

• 6–9 years of mechanical design experience, including 2–3 years leading complex design work or subsystems

• Strong CAD skills (Creo, SolidWorks or similar), plus GD&T, DOE and DFMA

• Knowledge of machining, injection moulding, extrusion, bonding, laser welding and overmolding

• Medical device experience is preferred. Strong mechanical design backgrounds from adjacent precision industries such as aerospace are also welcome.

• Simulation experience (Abaqus, Ansys) is an advantage
