About the role
Based in our Melbourne Head Office, we are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team assisting across major tenders, EOIs, and early contractor involvement (ECI) phases nationwide. In this strategic office-based role, you will collaborate with bid managers, estimators, and engineering design teams to ensure environmental requirements and sustainability goals are seamlessly integrated into winning tender proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead environmental, approvals, and sustainability inputs for major EOIs, tenders, and proposals across civil, transport, and energy sectors.
• Review client tender requirements, statutory planning approvals, and Environmental Impact Statements to identify key risks, constraints, and opportunities.
• Draft clear, persuasive environmental management strategies, risk mitigation plans, and sustainability methodologies for bid submissions.
• Partner with estimating, commercial, and engineering teams to ensure environmental risks and opportunities are accurately costed and scheduled.
• Embed sustainability frameworks (such as ISC rating standards and carbon reduction benchmarks) into tender designs and delivery proposals.
• Participate in client workshops, interactive tender sessions, and pre-bid presentations to articulate Gamuda’s environmental and sustainability capability.
Your skills and experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as an Environmental Advisor, with substantial exposure to pre-contracts, tendering, or front-end project development in major infrastructure or construction.
• Strong understanding of statutory planning approvals, environmental legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to write high-quality, persuasive tender content and translate technical environmental concepts into clear submission materials.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence internal bid teams and engage professionally with clients.
