An exciting opportunity has become available for a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join a rapidly growing infrastructure business based in Sydney CBD.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of key financial accounting activities, with a strong focus on month-end reporting, intercompany accounting and maintaining the integrity of the group's financial records. This role will suit a technically capable accountant who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in accuracy and wants to develop their career within a growing and commercially focused organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
• Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Taking ownership of intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, settlements and resolving discrepancies across multiple entities.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
• Assisting with statutory reporting, audit preparation and external audit requirements.
• Reviewing financial processes and identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and reporting timelines.
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting queries and ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Providing support to the Finance Manager across broader financial accounting and reporting activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• CA qualified (essential).
• At least 2–3 years' experience in an industry-based financial accounting role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a solid understanding of month-end and financial reporting processes.
• Demonstrated experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity environments.
• A strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and financial controls.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of deliverables.
• A proactive approach and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit finance team.
