About the Role
Lead and grow the outbound business development function at a Series A insurance AI startup. This early leadership role reports to the sales organization's senior leadership and is responsible for building a high-performing enterprise SDR/BDR team and creating qualified pipeline.
What You'll Do
Lead a team of 5 to 6 enterprise SDRs and BDRs, with plans to expand the team and develop additional management layers.
Improve existing playbooks, messaging, and sequences while building processes, tooling, cadences, and ramp plans.
Coach and develop representatives on account mapping, executive-level messaging, prospecting, and objection handling.
Own pipeline targets and team performance, identify conversion issues, and drive ongoing improvement.
Partner with account executives and marketing on go-to-market strategy, handoffs, and feedback loops.
What We're Looking For
7 or more years of sales experience, including at least 2 years managing an enterprise SDR or BDR team.
Experience hiring and building an enterprise or strategic accounts team, preferably in a high-growth startup environment.
A record of delivering against team quotas and developing sales representatives through hands-on coaching.
Strong executive presence and confidence engaging with senior leaders at large insurance organizations.
Consistent career progression and sustained contributions in previous roles.
Familiarity with Salesforce and Amplemarket.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $180,000 to $229,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in New York, New York, with in-office work five days per week.
