COMPANY OVERVIEW

Our client is an established international contractor delivering major, technically complex facilities across pharmaceuticals, life sciences, data centres and heavy industrial sectors. The business is known for its engineering-led approach, strong safety culture and the ability to deliver large, multi-year programmes for global clients.

Over many years, it has built long-term partnerships with repeat clients, and its reputation for reliability has secured a strong pipeline of high-value work across Ireland and Europe.

The business places real emphasis on developing its people, offering structured career progression, investment in professional development and the opportunity to work on some of the most significant facilities in the sector.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PROJECTS

You will be based in Milan, working on a major, long-term complex facility project as part of an international delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain overseas experience while working on a technically demanding, high-value scheme.

The project team brings together engineering, construction and commercial professionals from across Europe. You will work in a collaborative, high-performing environment with strong systems and support from the wider business.

Living allowances support your relocation and time in Italy, allowing you to focus on the project while enjoying everything Milan has to offer. International experience of this kind is a significant career asset and is highly valued within the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the commercial aspects of a major complex facility project from pre-contract through to final account
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, valuations and cash flow projections
  • Procure and administer subcontract packages, with particular focus on CSA works
  • Manage change control, variations and claims
  • Advise the project team on contractual and commercial risk
  • Build effective relationships with clients, consultants and the local supply chain
  • Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Quantity Surveying experience gained within a medium-to-large scale contractor
  • CSA (civil, structural and architectural) background preferred
  • Experience on large, complex projects; pharma, life sciences or data centre experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Good knowledge of international contract forms such as FIDIC and NEC
  • Willingness to relocate to Milan for the duration of the project
  • Italian language skills are beneficial but not essential
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline; MRICS/MSCSI desirable

WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN

This role offers a salary of circa €110,000 plus living allowances and benefits. It combines international project experience with long-term involvement on a high-value scheme, within a contractor that offers structured progression and a strong pipeline of future work across Europe.
