Senior Software Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (backend-leaning product engineer) for a seed-stage health AI startup in San Francisco. It's a 5-person team backed by top-tier investors, building radiology-as-a-service with an AI copilot for radiologists. There is roughly 1 radiologist for every 4 open radiology jobs, and this team is fixing that.

Comp: $215K to $275K base plus equity. Visa sponsorship available.

What you'll do

• Own the backend services, APIs and data models behind the internal tools that run the business: case assignment, radiologist peer review and analytics

• Own the integration layer that connects the platform to hospital systems (PACS, RIS, EHRs) over DICOM and HL7

• Work directly with customers during onboarding to understand their systems and build custom integrations

• Find process gaps and automate them across product and operations

• Make architecture decisions on your own and ship end to end, with no handholding

What we need

• 5+ years as a software engineer, backend-leaning but comfortable across the stack (TypeScript and React a plus)

• Experience in a high-signal engineering environment: big tech (Meta, Google, Palantir level) or a fast-growing startup

• Startup or startup-like experience owning product features end to end on a small team. Big tech plus startup is the ideal mix

• Strong systems design judgment, especially integrating with external customer systems

• Healthcare experience is NOT required. DICOM, HL7 or HIPAA exposure is a plus
