Software Engineer – Full Stack (Healthcare AI)
Location: New York City (Flatiron) – Onsite, 5 days per week
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: 150,000–230,000 base salary + competitive equity
Experience: 3–6 years
About the Opportunity
Our client is a healthcare AI company building communication infrastructure that helps healthcare organizations automate patient interactions and administrative workflows.
The company's AI-powered platform handles scheduling, billing, prescription refills, and follow-ups, completing workflows end-to-end so healthcare teams can focus on patient care.
The platform has already handled hundreds of thousands of patient interactions across virtual care companies, health systems, and health insurance organizations.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving team, take ownership of meaningful production software, and build technology that directly impacts healthcare delivery.
What You'll Do
Build and operate production full-stack features powering AI-driven healthcare communication.
Integrate with electronic health records (EHRs), legacy healthcare systems, and real-time voice infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with product, design, and senior engineers to turn customer needs into shipped software.
Debug and improve reliability, performance, and scalability across live systems.
Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and evolving engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
3–6 years of full-time, professional full-stack software engineering experience at a company, beyond founder or independent project work.
Demonstrated experience shipping production software from 0 to 1, with real end users.
Hands-on ownership of both backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL and frontend applications using React in production.
Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to independently build, ship, and maintain production software.
Experience crafting intuitive user interfaces, with strong product instincts and a keen design sense.
A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
At least one clear signal of technical excellence: recent experience at a top-tier technology company, a fast-moving venture-backed startup, or an elite academic institution.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver at the pace of a high-intensity startup.
Willingness to work onsite in the Flatiron neighborhood of New York City five days per week.
This position requires meaningful backend ownership in addition to frontend development. Candidates whose experience is primarily frontend-only, DevOps, infrastructure, IT, data science, or data analytics without substantial production software engineering experience are not aligned with the role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and voice technologies.
Experience developing customer-facing products and collaborating directly with users or customers.
Experience at fast-growing startups, particularly in environments requiring independent ownership and rapid execution.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: 150,000–230,000 annually.
Approximately 150,000–200,000 for candidates with 2–4 years of experience.
Higher compensation and a Senior Software Engineer title may be available for more experienced candidates.
Competitive equity.
Location & Work Requirements
This is a fully onsite position based in New York City's Flatiron neighborhood, requiring five days per week in the office. Candidates must be able to work onsite or be willing to relocate.
The role also includes approximately 10% travel.
