ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is the part of Pfizer that brings approved medicines to patients. Within the Network Intelligence organization, the Intelligent Solutions team builds and runs the data science and automation solutions that help PGS sites improve how material flows through the network.

You will act as the main contact for the Sherpa platform, a suite of web-based capabilities that provides site colleagues with insights, decision support and analytics solutions across the manufacturing process.

This role will involve everything from business analysis and data collection through to future idea generation. The Sherpa platform already has a significant user base, so this role provides the opportunity to be exposed to a broad set of business areas and technical solutions — and is ideal for someone earlier in their career who wants to grow.

You will work hand in hand with the Intelligent Solutions Architect, taking day-to-day direction from them on priorities and approach. The role reports to the lead of the Site Supply Transformation team. It is a global role with no direct reports.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with current and prospective Sherpa users to understand their business needs, and translate these as appropriate into either a specification document or a proof-of-concept user experience.
  • Investigate and interrogate business problems, and problems with data, that arise from Sherpa platform usage. This will generally require connecting to the PGS Unified Data Hub (UDH).
  • Work hand in hand with the Sherpa platform owner to communicate issues, decipher requests from site colleagues and help generate new ideas for the Sherpa platform.
  • Help push artificial intelligence (AI) tools into the platform to create an overall better experience for the user community.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Sherpa user community: triage incoming questions and issues, keep users informed on progress, and escalate to the platform owner or Digital colleagues where needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation of requirements, decisions, known issues and platform guidance so that knowledge is not held only in conversation.
  • Support adoption of the platform at sites, gathering feedback from users and feeding it back into the development priorities.
  • Partner with the process teams within the broader team where there are business process implications.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a master's degree with more than 0+ years of experience; OR an associate's degree with 6 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to engage business users, draw out what they actually need, and translate it into a clear written specification or a simple prototype.
  • Comfort working with data, including querying with SQL. Depth can be built in the role and training is available, but a demonstrable desire to learn is essential.
  • An investigative, analytical mindset — able to take a reported problem and work it back to its cause in the data or the process rather than stopping at the symptom.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical points to non-technical colleagues and to keep users informed.
  • Ability to work closely with and take direction from a technical lead, while managing their own workload and following through on commitments.
  • Interest in how manufacturing and supply chain operations work, and in how software and data can improve them.
  • High fluency in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with the PGS Unified Data Hub (UDH), or experience querying similar databases.
  • Exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing or supply chain operations.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence or large language model tools, and interest in applying them within a business application.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform data analysis and to trace data discrepancies between the Sherpa platform and the UDH data it draws on.
  • Ability to sustain attention to detail when documenting requirements and investigating reported issues.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Limited business travel, approximately 10%, including occasional travel to PGS manufacturing sites to work with users.
  • Expected to occasionally participate in early morning or evening meetings to accommodate different time zones.
  • Ability to communicate across regions, countries and cultures.
