The Enterprise SAP Finance Solutions Sr. Director is responsible for the strategy, development, and delivery of digital capabilities that power Pfizer’s global finance operations. This team supports key areas such as Record to Report, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Enterprise Financial Reporting, and plays a critical role in enabling seamless, standardized, and compliant financial processes across 140+ markets. The team’s work directly impacts Pfizer’s ability to operate efficiently, scale globally, and deliver a world-class experience for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

This Senior Director role supports VP-level finance and digital leaders to define and execute Pfizer’s strategic technology direction for global finance. The candidate will be accountable for delivering high-impact solutions that balance the unique needs of diverse finance functions while driving standardization through Pfizer’s global models and best practices. This leader will manage a portfolio of initiatives and lead a global team of managers to ensure strong execution, innovation, and operational excellence.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the global strategy and execution of digital finance solutions, ensuring alignment with Pfizer’s enterprise goals and finance transformation roadmap working closely with the CFO, his leadership team, and Digital leaders.

  • Partner with senior finance and digital stakeholders to define and implement standardized, scalable solutions that support global operations and local compliance.

  • Manage a global team of managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the adoption of global finance models and best practices across diverse business units while balancing local requirements and operational realities.

  • Own the digital finance application portfolio across SAP and non-SAP platforms, supporting core functions such as Record-to-Report, Intercompany and Project Accounting, General Ledger, Plant Finance, Lease Accounting, Invoice-to-Cash (I2C), Invoice-to-Pay (I2P), and transactional tax, ensuring system reliability, regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, GDPR), and data integrity.

  • Lead financial planning and investment prioritization for the finance technology portfolio, ensuring optimal use of resources and achievement of ROI targets.

  • Collaborate across Digital and business teams to define and maintain end-to-end operational efficiencies, controls, and governance for supported systems.

  • Anticipate transformational change, prepare the organization for evolving technology, process, and operating models, and drive adoption.

  • Manage technology implementation partners and system integrators, ensuring delivery quality, contract performance, and value realization.

  • Ensure the application portfolio adheres to enterprise information security, data privacy, and controls requirements, partnering with Security and Compliance teams as needed.

  • Provide solution guidance for finance solutions and stay abreast of new technology trends in the industry and potential use cases for Pfizer.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS with at least 12 years of experience or MBA/MS with at least 10 years of experience or PhD/JD with at least 7 years of experience or MD/DVM with at least 5 years of experience

  • Diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers

  • Develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes

  • Experience in SAP and other global solutions

  • Global cultural awareness and strong people management experience

  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution

  • Strong technical and functional knowledge across finance applications and processes

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Background in Business Management

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in managing direct reports

  • Strong decision-making and strategic thinking skills

  • Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Possible night and weekend work during project/program deployments.

Ability to travel up to 25% of time as required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. * The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $193,400.00 to $322,400.00.
