Role Summary

The Sr. Manager, Master Data Domains & Trust Lead reports directly to the Senior Director, PGS Data Governance Lead within PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation. This role is accountable for the governance, trust, and health of PGS’s critical master data domains, Supplier and Product, ensuring this data is trusted, controlled, and fit for purpose across its full lifecycle.

As the governance lead for these domains, the Sr. Manager establishes the governance foundations for Supplier and Product master data end-to-end, including domain scope, critical data elements, data standards and definitions, and quality rules, in partnership with business process owners, system owners, and enterprise data governance partners. The role drives metadata management, data lineage, and Collibra documentation so that governed master data assets are transparent, discoverable, trusted, and usable by business users, technical teams, and AI/analytics solutions.

Operating as an individual contributor who leads through influence, the Sr. Manager establishes, leads, and matures a global network of embedded data stewards and data owners across the Supplier and Product domains, coaching them for consistent accountability and execution. The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining all aspects of the Data Health Assurance operating model, business processes, and enabling solutions for these domains, including data health metrics and outlier identification algorithms, and contributes to the Community of Practice that builds governance capability across PGS.

By ensuring trusted, governed Supplier and Product master data is available, accurate, and secure, this role strengthens sourcing, supplier management, and product data integrity across the PGS network, enables efficient and compliant manufacturing and supply operations, and positions PGS to scale analytics and AI-driven decision-making with confidence.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own governance accountability for PGS’s Supplier and Product master data domains, ensuring in-scope data is trusted, controlled, and fit for purpose throughout its lifecycle.
  • Establish the governance foundations for in scope domains, including critical data elements, data standards and definitions, and quality rules, in partnership with business process owners, system owners, and enterprise data governance partners.
  • Establish, coach, and mature a global network of embedded data stewards and data owners across the Supplier and Product domains, ensuring clear ownership, consistent accountability, and strong execution.
  • Embed governance into day-to-day operations and drive continuous improvement (CI) of stewardship practices, connecting local activity to enterprise governance priorities.
  • Lead the design, development, endorsement, and implementation of data health metrics and outlier identification algorithms for Supplier and Product data, partnering with Data Engineering and the Quality Rules & Workflows Lead to ensure issues are consistently detected, routed, resolved, and prevented at scale.
  • Drive metadata management, data lineage, and Collibra documentation so governed Supplier and Product master data assets are transparent, discoverable, trusted, and usable by business users, technical teams, and AI/analytics solutions.
  • Contribute to the Community of Practice that connects stewards, owners, and Data Domain Leads, and identify and execute CI initiatives across governed domains, business processes, and enabling solutions.
  • Ensure the Supplier and Product data domains are appropriately represented in projects that rely on, create, modify, or consume critical data, bringing steward and owner expertise into project design, decision-making, and delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience; OR a master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR a PhD with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Demonstrated success establishing or operating data governance, data management, data quality, or master data management capabilities, including standards, stewardship, and operating model implementation.
  • Strong understanding of supplier and/or product master data and the business processes and systems that generate it, such as procurement and sourcing, supplier lifecycle management, product lifecycle management, and ERP material and product master processes.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in a large, matrixed organization, including coaching embedded data stewards and owners and enabling independent ownership without direct authority.
  • Ability to translate governance and data quality requirements into standards, rules, workflows, and automated solutions.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, and data quality platforms and practices (e.g., Collibra), with the ability to quickly learn new data domains and translate complex governance concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how trusted, governed data enables AI, analytics, compliance, and enterprise decision-making in regulated (GxP) or similarly complex environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills across data stewards, owners, technical teams, senior leaders, and executive stakeholders, including influence without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Pfizer colleague network, particularly across PGS, Digital, Procurement, and/or Quality, with a proven track record of forming partnerships to accomplish common goals in highly complex areas.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply operations, with working knowledge of GxP data integrity expectations and enterprise systems such as SAP (supplier/vendor and material/product masters), procurement platforms, and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Experience standing up governance for new data domains, including defining scope, standards, ownership, and stewardship from the ground up.
  • Strong AI, technical, and business acumen, with the ability to connect master data governance to sourcing, supply chain, analytics, automation, and platform priorities.
  • Proven program management capabilities and experience successfully executing initiatives with large, globally distributed teams.
