As a Supplier Quality & Development Engineering Co-Op, you will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve product quality, reduce supply chain risk, and drive operational excellence across GE HealthCare's Anesthesia and Respiratory Care business. This role offers hands-on experience working with supplier quality, sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams while supporting medical device products used around the world. Job Description Position Description: The Supplier Quality & Development Engineering Co-op will play an active role in ensuring supplier quality, product reliability, and operational excellence across GE HealthCare's supply base. Working closely with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams, this individual will support both strategic improvement initiatives and day-to-day quality operations that directly impact our products and customers. This role provides exposure to supplier management, quality systems, manufacturing operations, data analytics, and continuous improvement within the medical device industry. Students will have opportunities to work on projects aimed at improving supplier performance, reducing defects, enhancing process efficiency, and supporting supplier development activities. In addition to project-based work, the co-op will support recurring operational responsibilities such as monitoring supplier certifications, maintaining quality metrics and dashboards, and assisting with supplier communications and corrective action follow-up. The role will also encourage the use of data analytics, automation, and digital tools to simplify processes and improve efficiencies of the team. Successful candidates are comfortable balancing routine responsibilities with improvement opportunities, demonstrate attention to detail, and take initiative to identify and solve problems. This position is well suited for students who enjoy working with data, collaborating across functions, learning new technologies, and driving continuous improvement. Location: Madison, WI Basic Qualifications: Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook) Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams Available to work a minimum of 28 weeks Legally authorized to work in the United States Must be willing to relocate to Madison, WI Preferred Characteristics: Prior internship or Co-op in manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, or research experience Self-starter with strong initiative and a willingness to take ownership of assignments Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and business processes Comfortable asking questions, seeking feedback, and working through ambiguity Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to balance recurring operational responsibilities with project-based work Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement Proven adaptability in challenging situations and changing priorities Demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, VBA, SQL, Python, AI tools, or other automation/digitalization technologies Proven academic performance through strong GPA (3.0+) Why Join Us?
