About Gloria Jeans

Gloria Jeans is one of the largest fashion retailers in its home markets, with a history dating back to 1988, when our founder registered one of the first jeans workshops in the country. From that single workshop in Rostov-on-Don, we grew into a leading fast-fashion group with over 600 stores across Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, more than 7,000 employees, and over $1 billion in annual revenue. We dress the whole family - style and quality at prices millions can afford.

Now we have moved our headquarters to the UAE and are rebuilding the business for international growth, with the GCC and Southeast Asia as our first priority markets, alongside a fast-scaling e-commerce business and new categories in Home and Beauty. Our ambition is to create a genuinely global fashion group and, over time, grow it into a $10 billion business. We are still founder-led and entrepreneurial: decisions here are made in days, not quarters.

The role

The Tax Manager owns tax across the group as a Global Process Owner, covering corporate tax, VAT and transfer pricing across the UAE, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The role is responsible for making intercompany flows for sourcing, royalties, management fees and financing properly priced, documented and defensible.

This is both a compliance and value role. You will manage the group tax calendar, effective tax rate, tax reporting, risk and external advisers while assessing the UAE corporate tax and free zone position. The role reports directly to the CFO and is fully based in Dubai, with relocation required and business travel of up to 25%.

What you will own

  • Own the transfer pricing policy for intercompany goods flows, sourcing margins, royalties, management fees and financing.
  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation to the required standard in every jurisdiction.
  • Assess and document the UAE corporate tax position, including the application of free zone regimes to qualifying income.
  • Establish and manage the corporate tax and VAT compliance calendar across all group jurisdictions.
  • Ensure every required filing is accurate, complete and submitted on time.
  • Calculate, explain and forecast the group's effective tax rate as part of the planning cycle.
  • Own deferred tax, tax provisioning and tax disclosures in the statutory accounts.
  • Manage tax audits, regulatory enquiries and relationships with local tax authorities.
  • Manage external tax advisers in each jurisdiction, controlling scope, quality and cost.
  • Maintain the tax risk register and quantify the financial exposure attached to each material issue.
  • Assess the tax consequences of headquarters relocation and changes to the group's operating structure.
  • Provide the CFO and leadership team with clear, quantified recommendations on tax exposure and remediation.

What we are looking for

  • Eight or more years of tax or accounting experience in a multi-jurisdictional business.
  • Strong transfer pricing experience covering intercompany goods flows, royalties, service charges and financing.
  • Working knowledge of UAE corporate tax and free zone regimes.
  • Experience managing corporate tax and VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ideally including the CIS region.
  • A professional qualification in tax or accounting, with Big Four or equivalent training.
  • Experience with deferred tax, tax provisioning, statutory disclosures and effective tax-rate forecasting.
  • The ability to manage external advisers, tax audits and regulatory enquiries.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with SAP, 1C and Power BI is an advantage.
  • Fluent English; Russian and exposure to Russian, Kazakh or Belarusian tax systems are advantages.
  • The ability to explain tax exposure clearly and support every conclusion with quantified financial analysis.

What success looks like

Within the first year, the role will map all intercompany flows and quantify the current transfer pricing exposure, establish a complete compliance calendar, close documentation gaps, formally assess the UAE corporate tax position and integrate effective tax-rate forecasting into the planning cycle.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Relocation and visa support
  • Private medical insurance
  • Annual leave
  • Learning and development
  • International exposure across four tax jurisdictions
  • Direct ownership of the group's global tax framework
