About Bolt
Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.
From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.
And we're just getting started.
Why join Bolt?
Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Tax Technology Manager to join our growing tax team, which provides strategic and hands-on tax support across more than 50 countries. In this role, you will work closely with Tax, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, and other teams to ensure our systems and tools support business goals while maintaining tax compliance across jurisdictions.
This role will drive the transformation of tax processes through technology and automation, helping the tax function scale efficiently across a growing international footprint. You will turn complex tax and reporting requirements into practical, well-governed systems and processes, with a focus on simplifying complexity and delivering scalable, efficient, and high-quality tax outcomes.
Preference will be given to candidates based in Tallinn or willing to relocate there. Relocation support is available for Tallinn.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Improve, standardise, and automate tax processes to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and increase efficiency across the tax function.
Support compliance with digital tax reporting, billing, and similar requirements, including e-invoicing, fiscalisation, and SAF-T, by working with internal teams and external partners to implement fit-for-purpose solutions.
Map tax processes and data flows, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and support the implementation of practical controls and improvements to strengthen tax risk management and governance.
Partner closely with Tax, Finance, Commerce, Engineering, and other teams to understand current ways of working, align on priorities, and deliver practical, value-adding process and technology improvements.
Help scale the tax function across Bolt’s growing international footprint through well-governed systems, automation, and process improvements.
About you:
Proven experience in tax technology, tax operations, tax transformation, or a related field, ideally in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
Solid understanding of core tax processes, including VAT/GST and related data flows. Exposure to other tax areas such as direct taxes, transfer pricing, Pillar Two, or digital platform reporting is a plus.
Proven experience improving end-to-end processes, with the ability to understand cross-functional workflows, identify inefficiencies or control gaps, and drive scalable improvements.
Hands-on experience with tax and finance systems such as tax engines, ERP systems, workflow or project management tools, and data transformation tools. Experience with analytics or visualisation tools is an advantage.
Strong project management skills, a good understanding of accounting fundamentals and IT terminology, and the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver against deadlines.
