An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated HCPC-registered Orthotist to join NHS Forth Valley as our Team Lead Orthotist.
This is a key leadership role within our Orthotics Service, offering the opportunity to shape service delivery, influence strategic developments, and support the ongoing transformation of specialist rehabilitation services across Forth Valley.
The successful candidate will provide both clinical and operational leadership, working closely with the AHP Coordinator to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred orthotic services. The post holder will lead on service improvement, clinical governance, workforce development, and performance management whilst maintaining a specialist clinical caseload.
You will be an autonomous practitioner with extensive post-registration experience and a passion for delivering excellent patient care. You will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
The Role Includes
A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential as travel throughout Forth Valley is required.

- Providing clinical leadership and specialist orthotic assessment and treatment across a diverse patient population.
- Leading the day-to-day operational management of the Orthotics Service.
- Supporting service redesign, innovation, and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Leading on clinical governance, audit, and service performance monitoring.
- Managing and supporting staff through supervision, appraisal, professional development, and workforce planning processes.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner organisations, and regional and national professional networks.
- Supporting financial stewardship and effective use of resources within the service.
- A Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics (or equivalent) and current HCPC registration.
- Significant post-registration clinical experience.
- Demonstrable leadership and management experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and supporting colleagues to achieve their full potential.
