Affiliate Partnerships Manager
Location: Remote
Working Hours: U.S. Eastern Time (EST) business hours
Employment Type: Full-Time, Remote
About the Role
We are looking for an Affiliate Partnerships Manager to take ownership of recruiting, onboarding, activating, managing, and optimizing a growing portfolio of long-tail affiliate and publisher partners.
You will identify promising partners, evaluate their audience and traffic quality, bring qualified partners into the affiliate program, and help them become productive.
Once partners are live, you will maintain relationships, monitor performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and re-engage affiliates that have become inactive or underperforming.
A critical part of the role is also traffic quality and promotional compliance. You will monitor how partners acquire traffic and represent the company, identifying potentially problematic activity such as misleading healthcare claims, unauthorized brand bidding, incentivized traffic, or suspicious conversion patterns.
You will work closely with the internal affiliate lead to align on priorities, review performance, and escalate partner or compliance concerns when necessary.
What You'll Do
- Identify and prospect smaller publishers, niche websites, content creators, and other potential long-tail affiliate partners.
- Evaluate prospective partners based on audience relevance, traffic sources, content quality, promotional methods, and overall fit for a healthcare brand.
- Conduct outreach to qualified partners and clearly communicate the affiliate program, commercial model, and partnership expectations.
- Guide new partners through onboarding and help them become active and productive within the program.
- Manage ongoing relationships with a portfolio of active affiliate and publisher partners.
- Regularly review partner performance and identify opportunities to improve results through stronger placements, refreshed creative, different offers, or other optimizations.
- Re-engage inactive or underperforming partners and determine which relationships warrant additional investment and which should be deprioritized.
- Monitor partner traffic sources and promotional activity to ensure alignment with program and brand requirements.
- Identify and flag potential compliance or traffic-quality concerns, including misleading health claims, unauthorized brand bidding, incentivized traffic, and unusual or suspicious conversion patterns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner records, communications, performance data, and reporting.
- Use affiliate platforms, tracking tools, and spreadsheets to monitor program activity and partner performance.
- Meet regularly with the internal affiliate lead to review priorities, discuss results, identify opportunities, and escalate partner concerns early.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience building and managing affiliate, publisher, or performance-based partnerships.
- Experience managing a larger portfolio of smaller or long-tail partners rather than exclusively managing a small number of major publishers.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, prospecting, recruiting, onboarding, and activating new affiliate partners.
- Strong understanding of common affiliate traffic sources, including SEO, content, email, paid media, and social media.
- Working knowledge of cost-per-action (CPA) affiliate models, including how affiliate offers, tracking, conversions, and partner payouts work.
- Strong judgment when evaluating publisher quality, audience relevance, traffic sources, and promotional practices.
- Ability to recognize questionable traffic patterns or promotional activity and escalate potential compliance concerns appropriately.
- Experience optimizing active affiliate relationships and re-engaging inactive or underperforming partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous partner relationships, follow-ups, and priorities simultaneously.
- Clear, professional, and relationship-oriented written communication skills, as most publisher communication will take place through email and chat.
- Comfortable working with affiliate platforms, tracking systems, and spreadsheets for performance monitoring and basic reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating closely with an internal affiliate team.
- Availability to work U.S. Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
Nice to Have
- Experience working within healthcare, wellness, insurance, or another regulated industry where advertising and promotional requirements are strict.
- Hands-on experience with affiliate networks or platforms such as Impact, CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, or similar tools.
- Previous experience monitoring affiliate compliance, traffic quality, or potentially fraudulent activity.
- Experience scaling long-tail affiliate programs with a high volume of smaller publisher relationships.
