Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more! At Ford Motor Company, we believe freedom of movement drives human progress. We also believe in providing you with the freedom to define and realize your dreams. With our incredible plans for the future of mobility, we have a wide variety of opportunities for you to accelerate your career potential as you help us define tomorrow's transportation.
As a key member of the Aftertreatment team within Ford Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering, you will plan and drive Ford's global aftertreatment Total Value Management (TVM) program. You'll find ways to meet worldwide tailpipe emissions regulations at minimum cost. You'll also manage Ford's annual aftertreatment competitive benchmarking, bringing insights back into our designs. A Technical Expert for aftertreatment systems will provide technical coaching to support you in this role. This is a hybrid role both onsite and remote.
What this role offers…
Global scope: your work spans gasoline and diesel programs worldwide, giving you a system-level view of how an idea moves from aftertreatment design through calibration, certification, and into production.
Direct business impact: the opportunities you develop become measurable cost savings on production vehicles.
High visibility: you'll present regularly to management and work closely with leaders across Aftertreatment, Calibration, Certification and vehicle programs.
Engineering and program management: combine emissions engineering with cross-functional program ownership, ideal for a motivated engineer ready to broaden their impact.
What you'll do...
Lead global aftertreatment TVM initiatives for gasoline and diesel vehicles, driving cost reduction ideas from concept to production
Plan and manage TVM projects through testing and implementation, partnering with Aftertreatment and Exhaust Design and Release, Engine Calibration, Program Management, Certification, and the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT)
Facilitate weekly cross-functional meetings to align priorities and drive progress on testing and implementation plans
Prepare and present monthly updates in Chief Engineer reviews
Coordinate vehicle emissions data analysis to assess how tailpipe emissions respond to aftertreatment design parameters and operational noise factors, and use findings to inform technical recommendations
Partner with the Aftertreatment Technical Expert to define best-in-class aftertreatment systems that meet worldwide regulatory emission standards, and apply TVM insights to guide future design decisions
Manage Ford's annual aftertreatment benchmarking activities, coordinate testing and comparative data analysis, and present findings to key stakeholders
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
