Help keep apprenticeships on track - and make a difference to every learner’s journey.

Skills for Security is the leading apprenticeship provider in the Fire and Security sector. We’re looking for an experienced, organised and enthusiastic Business Administrator to support our apprenticeship delivery and help learners get the best possible experience.

You don’t need experience in Fire and Security. Bring your administrative know-how, attention to detail and willingness to learn, and we’ll help you build your understanding of our sector.

Why join Skills for Security?

We’re proud to make a positive difference through education and skills. Join a team that supports learners to develop their skills and build careers in a vital industry.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Apprenticeships, you’ll provide reliable administrative support across our apprenticeship programmes. You’ll help keep records accurate, support compliance with funder and Ofsted requirements, and make sure key activities run smoothly.

This is a hybrid role, with regular weekly attendance at our Warrington Training Centre.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support for apprenticeship programmes, including attendance checks.

  • Using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Teams, alongside learner management systems (BUD), to track information and report on learner progress.

  • Maintaining accurate learner records and programme documentation.

  • Helping schedule and coordinate events connected with apprenticeship delivery.

  • Keeping records organised and up to date to support audits and inspections.

  • Working with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve queries and support a positive learner experience.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in an administrative role (ideally within education or apprenticeships) and confidence managing a range of tasks.

  • Strong organisation skills and a careful eye for detail.

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.

  • A proactive attitude, with the confidence to use your initiative and solve problems.

  • Flexibility when priorities or circumstances change.

  • A willingness to learn about the Fire and Security sector and grow in the role.

If you’re a capable administrator who takes pride in getting the details right and wants your work to have a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Home/hybrid working

  • Competitive salary starting at £27,000 (depending on experience)

  • 33 days of annual leave, plus Christmas closure (3 days)

  • Enhanced pension contributions

  • Family friendly working hours

  • Life assurance 3 x salary

  • Refer a friend scheme

  • Development and progression opportunities

  • Funded qualification opportunities

Safer Recruitment

As we accept students under 18 years of age and prioritise their safety, please note the following if we proceed with your application:

  • We will require two references, including your most recent employer specifically asking if there is any reason you should not be employed in roles involving responsibility for, or substantial access to, individuals under 18.

  • We will need a satisfactory explanation for any gaps in your CV.

  • A DBS check will be required before confirming your appointment.

  • If appointed, we will need to see your passport or other proof of identity and your original certificates.
