Assistant Accountant

What this job covers
Working Quarter is hiring an Assistant Accountant, full-time and remote from anywhere in Ireland. You look after the balance sheet side of each client's month-end, so the report pack is built on accounts that reconcile.

Each month

• Reconcile bank, credit card and loan accounts to the statements
• Post accruals, prepayments and depreciation journals
• Prepare the balance sheet reconciliations and the schedules behind them
• Ask the client's bookkeeper about balances you can't explain
• Keep the fixed asset register up to date

To be considered

• A year or more in accounting or finance, in practice or industry, internships included
• A degree in accounting or finance, or an accounting qualification under way
• Excel: reconciliations, lookups and pivot tables

A plus

• Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage or NetSuite
• Month-end work for more than one company at a time
