Role: Associate Engineering Manager

Location: Bengaluru

As an Associate Engineering Manager in our Engineering department, you' l have the chance to:

● Partner with market and product stakeholders to innovate, design, scope and deliver products end to end, choosing the right tech stack to solve real business chalenges.

● Lead and grow a team of engineers: set priorities aligned with objectives, give regular and honest feedback, and drive each team member's career progression.

● Stay hands-on, building substantial features and setting the bar for code quality, design and testing on your team.

● Own delivery from planning through release and production health.

● Raise the team's engineering bar: evangelise practices for highly available, high-performance systems, run POCs on new tools (including AI), and chalenge processes that no longer work.

● Live by the motto of "People Come First" in every action you propose and take.

What you’ll bring

● Experience: 6+ years of experience building and shipping products, including experience leading engineering teams.

● Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on ski ls in Java (or another OO language), microservices, multi-tier web applications, SQL and NoSQL databases, and AWS (Google Cloud or Azure welcome), with a solid grasp of OO design, design patterns, TDD and CI/CD. Proven experience designing distributed, scalable systems for performance and resilience. React or Angular and big data technologies are a plus.

● AI-Native Engineering: Hands-on with AI coding assistants and agents (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor), with sound judgement on guardrails, review standards and measuring real impact. Experience building LLM-powered features is a plus.

● Leadership & People Development: Proven ability to mentor engineers and build an inclusive, people-first team culture.

● Communication & Collaboration: Tailors communication to the audience, stays composed in difficult conversations, and partners effectively with Product, Data Science, Analytics and Trading.

● Delivery Mindset: Extreme attention to detail, prioritises wel under tight deadlines, goes the extra mile on stretch goals, and stays curious and open to growth.
