Show job description

Onwards HR is hiring a Business Analyst to get customers live on our HR software and keep the product working well. You’ll gather and document business requirements, plan implementations (timelines, resources, risks), and configure the software for each customer. You’ll also write and run test plans, work with Development to fix defects, train end users, maintain documentation, and run tailored product demos when they’re needed.

About the role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Business Analyst to help HR, Legal and Finance teams get live on Onwards and run offboarding with confidence. You’ll be at the center of each implementation. You’ll turn business needs into configured, tested software and make sure customers are trained and confident using it. This role reports to Delivery leadership and works closely with Development, Sales, Customer Success and our customers.

What you’ll do

  • Gather and document detailed business requirements with customer stakeholders, and analyze existing processes to find improvements
  • Develop implementation plans, including timelines, resource allocation and risk assessments
  • Configure software settings and parameters to meet each customer’s requirements
  • Develop and execute test plans, document defects and work with Development to resolve them quickly
  • Deliver end-user training and ongoing support so customers adopt the product successfully
  • Maintain user manuals, process flows and knowledge base articles
  • Deliver product demonstrations tailored to prospects and existing customers

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally at an HR technology company or in the HR IT function of a large enterprise
  • A strong grasp of business processes, business analysis and implementation methods such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira or Asana
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work well on your own and as part of a team
  • Willingness to adjust your hours occasionally to meet customer needs

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with severance, offboarding, RIF/WARN compliance or other employee separation processes
  • Experience with HR tech platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, UKG or ServiceNow
  • SQL and data analysis skills
  • A business analysis certification (CBAP or CCBA)

Compensation and benefits

The base salary range for this role is $80,000–$100,000 per year. The final offer will depend on experience and skills. Benefits include:

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid holidays
