MNI has grown 30% year-on-year for five years running. We are scaling fast, bringing on 60 new Business Development Representatives each year to help write the next chapter of our growth story! As we continue to invest in our Asia coverage, we are looking for a Japanese speaking candidate to help shape our presence in the region.
This is an exciting entry point into financial market sales with excellent progression opportunities. At MNI, we foster talent from the ground up, with 95% of our senior leadership having started in the BDR seat. Progression here is earned on merit, not tenure. On average, BDRs move into a full sales role in Client Relations, Account Management, or Business Development within just 6 months.
Reporting to our Global BDR Managers, you will learn the fundamentals of consultative selling & build real knowledge of financial markets. From day one, you will be speaking directly with C-suite clients, honing your commercial instincts, and laying the groundwork for a long-term career in sales.

Where you fit in
Sitting on either our New Business or Account Management team, you will develop deep expertise in a specific asset class or market area, whether that is Macro, Commodities, Credit, or Data. At every stage, you will learn to sell a product that the world's largest financial institutions rely on to make critical decisions.
What will you do?
- Prospect and qualify new business opportunities across the APAC market, identifying and engaging the institutions that stand to benefit most from MNI's coverage
- Collaborate with Account Executives to expand relationships with existing clients as their needs evolve & our product expands
- Conduct initial outreach to potential clients via phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Meet and exceed monthly KPIs for outreach activity and meetings booked
Who you are
- Fluency in Japanese (business-level or native)
- Highly motivated, with a results-driven, competitive, & resilient mindset
- A genuine curiosity for financial markets, economic news, & current affairs
- Driven to win & just as driven to improve — receptive to feedback & committed to growth
- Previous sales, business development, or client-facing experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we'll teach you the rest!
Our promise to you
- £34,000 base salary. Uncapped commission, with realistic £38,000–£46,000 OTE in Year 1
- Structured onboarding that gives you exposure across every arm of the business, backed by a comprehensive training programme — one fundamental skill mastered every month, delivered through weekly internal and external sessions
- International travel, with opportunities to visit New York, Paris, Geneva, Singapore, Dubai & more after Year 1
- Fun & sociable culture — think quarterly incentives, team nights out, sports days, and more!
- Hybrid working: to support onboarding and team integration, this role is in-office 4-5 days per week for your first 3 months, with the option to transition to 2 days remote thereafter
