Join VeroTech as a Chassis Design Engineer and become part of our community where innovation and people come first. Take on exciting technical challenges, develop your expertise and create solutions that drive progress across several industries.
About the role
As a Chassis Design Engineer, you combine mechanical design with project follow-up for the underframe of an electric public transport vehicle platform. Your focus is on chassis components and related steel structures, with all design work performed in Creo.
You act as the link between internal engineering teams and external partners responsible for FEM calculations. You prepare clear technical input, interpret their results and translate findings into design decisions, while monitoring scope, planning, quality and manufacturability with suppliers, production and purchasing stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Design and modify chassis components and steel structures in Creo, including 3D models and 2D drawings
Translate requirements, regulatory changes and supplier updates into concepts and practical design solutions
Prepare FEM calculation input, including CAD geometry, boundary conditions, load cases and clear technical questions
Interpret external FEM results and convert conclusions into concrete design improvements
Coordinate work packages with suppliers and engineering partners, monitoring scope, timing, quality and delivery
What we're looking for
You combine strong mechanical engineering skills with a structured project mindset. You understand how to design robust, manufacturable chassis structures and how to collaborate effectively with external calculation and engineering partners.
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electromechanics or a similar technical field
You have at least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design
Experience with mechanical design in Creo for 3D models and 2D drawings
Ability to read and interpret FEM results and prepare the technical input for new calculations
Experience with project follow-up and coordination of suppliers or external engineering partners
Good knowledge of Dutch and English is required
