Want to run the complex property files yourself, with real support behind you and none of the big-firm grind?
An off the plan contract with a sunset date coming up, a retail lease with a guarantee attached, or a retirement village contract that needs explaining to someone’s mum? If so, we’d like to meet you.
About us
Empire Legal is a Queensland property law firm with offices in Spring Hill, Wynnum and Paradise Point. Since 2017 we’ve settled more than 16,000 matters and picked up over 3,000 five-star Google reviews. Our director was recently named the 2026 QLS Queensland Solicitor of the Year (Small Firm). We take the work seriously and ourselves a lot less so. You won’t find suits or timesheets here, just a team that celebrates each other’s wins and backs each other on the hard days.
The role
Our residential conveyancing team is busy and well supported. Now we need an experienced lawyer to take on our more complex property work, with our Head of Legal on hand when you want a second opinion.
You’ll:
- Review and advise on off the plan contracts for land, units and townhouses, including disclosure statements, sunset dates and variations
- Run commercial property sales and purchases from contract to settlement
- Act for landlords and tenants on commercial and retail leases
- Advise guarantors on what they’re signing and what it could cost them
- Advise incoming residents and families on retirement village and manufactured home agreements
- Help our conveyancing team through the trickier files when they need it
What you’ll bring
- A current Queensland practising certificate and 3+ years PAE
- Solid experience in at least two of: off the plan, commercial conveyancing, leasing
- Confidence running files yourself, while still knowing when to ask
- Clear, plain English writing, so a client can understand a sunset clause the first time
- A good rapport with clients, agents, brokers and other firms
Nice to have
- Retirement village or manufactured home experience (if you don’t have it, we’ll help you build it)
- Business sales and purchases
- An interest in wills and estate planning, which we’re happy to support you to learn
Why Empire Legal
- Hybrid work by agreement, with hours that leave room for school runs and life admin
- A generous salary plus performance-based bonuses
- Strong precedents and modern tools (Smokeball, PEXA, InfoTrack)
- A collaborative, open door team where you can always grab someone for a quick sense check
- Regular team lunches and a crew of seriously good humans
