JobMatchingPartner are looking for a Compliance Support Officer to join a well-established and growing professional services firm in Malta. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and maintaining a robust, inspection-ready compliance framework across the Group’s regulated and non-regulated activities. This is a broad, compliance-led position, with AML/CFT responsibilities forming a clearly defined component of a wider remit. The role does not involve independent MLRO decision-making responsibilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to develop as an all-round specialist within a supportive, family-oriented culture.

This is a hybrid role, offering a salary of up to €35K + performance bonus.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Compliance Function in monitoring adherence to the Company Service Providers Act, the Trusts and Trustees Act, MFSA requirements and data protection obligations

  • Contribute to the design, delivery and recording of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including thematic reviews, file testing and control assessments

  • Provide regulatory and governance input on client onboarding and acceptance procedures, and support the ongoing review of existing clients, structures, trusts and fiduciary arrangements

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining Board and management compliance reports, including follow-up on findings and remedial actions

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance registers, logs and records

  • Track regulatory developments and escalate relevant updates to the Head of Compliance

  • Assist in drafting, implementing and periodically reviewing compliance policies, procedures and internal controls, and provide compliance guidance to operational teams

  • Assist in reviewing AML/CFT documentation produced during onboarding and ongoing monitoring (e.g. CDD, customer risk assessments, source of wealth and source of funds narratives)

  • Assist in testing AML/CFT controls under the Compliance Monitoring Programme, recording findings and following up on remediation actions

  • Assist in maintaining AML/CFT records, logs and reporting outputs in coordination with the MLRO, and support AML/CFT training and awareness initiatives

Education, Skills & Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a general compliance, regulatory or governance role, ideally within a CSP, trustee, fiduciary or regulated professional services setting in Malta - non-negotiable

  • Professional qualifications and/or certifications in Governance, Compliance, AML/CFT or Risk are a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Exposure to AML/CFT matters is required for this role

  • Exposure to general compliance frameworks, particularly those relating to CSPs and trustee activities, along with a working knowledge of AML/CFT obligations and MFSA guidance

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate compliance risks and controls across varied business lines

  • Well organised and detail-oriented, able to juggle several compliance workstreams while keeping clear audit trails

  • Able to work independently within a structured Compliance Function, with a clear grasp of independence and escalation requirements

About the role

  • Salary of up to €35K + performance bonus

  • Hybrid working with flexible hours

  • Longer weekends (office closes at 2pm on Fridays)

  • Birthday leave

  • Study leave and sponsorships

  • On-the-job training and mentoring from industry professionals

  • Career progression plan

  • Opportunities to attend industry events

  • Health insurance

  • Wellness allowance

  • Free mental health workshops and one-to-one sessions

  • Free parking

  • Corporate discounts

  • Regular team building and departmental events

Note: Due to the urgency of the role, only candidates who are based in Malta and have experience in a similar role in Malta can be considered.
