About Bardge
Bardge is building the infrastructure that powers wellness access across Africa. Through one platform, we connect people to gyms, spas, fitness studios, and wellness experiences across hundreds of locations in Nigeria.
Employers use Bardge to keep their teams healthy. HMOs use it to deliver wellness benefits to their enrollees. Fintechs and consumer apps use it to embed fitness and wellness into their products. And thousands of individuals use it to move, train, and unwind wherever they are.
We are building the rails that let any organization plug wellness into what they offer, so that staying well becomes part of everyday life rather than a luxury. We work with Nigeria's leading wellness providers, and we are just getting started.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a creative, story-driven Content & Community Lead to own Bardge's day-to-day content engine and make Bardge visible, understandable and memorable across social media and other customer-facing channels.
You will turn what is happening inside Bardge every day (product launches, partnerships, provider and customer stories, HMO and employer launches) into content people want to watch, read, share and engage with, working closely with Growth, the founders, product, partnerships and our provider network.
The ideal candidate writes extremely well, can shoot and edit with a phone, and moves comfortably between consumer content, B2B storytelling, short-form video, community engagement and brand storytelling. You should constantly be asking: "What interesting thing happened at Bardge this week that people should know about?"
Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day management of Bardge's social channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X and other relevant platforms), including a consistent publishing calendar.
- Write posts, captions, scripts and campaign copy, and create simple graphics and social assets.
- Shoot and edit short-form video, and repurpose each piece of content into multiple formats across different channels.
- Turn product launches, partnerships, provider stories, customer stories, industry developments and internal conversations into content, including educational content on how Bardge works and why it matters, and behind-the-scenes content on how we are building our product and network.
- Work with gyms, spas and wellness providers to produce provider and customer stories, interviewing customers, partners and team members where necessary.
- Support founder-led content for LinkedIn and other channels.
- Engage with customers, providers and partners across Bardge's channels in our tone of voice, identify customers and providers who could become brand advocates, and encourage and collect user-generated content.
- Build relationships with fitness, wellness and lifestyle communities, and identify collaborations with gyms, trainers, creators and other relevant communities.
- Execute campaigns with the Growth team that drive awareness, activation, engagement or retention, such as launching a new city or provider, promoting new features, increasing pass claims, encouraging more frequent visits, promoting wellness challenges or leagues, supporting HMO and employer launches, and running provider campaigns.
- Track content performance (reach, engagement, video completion, shares, saves, follower growth, profile visits, website traffic, branded search, campaign conversions and leads generated from content) and continuously improve based on what drives attention and action, not whether a post simply gets likes.
- Identify trends and formats Bardge can participate in without making the brand feel forced or generic.
How You Will Work With Growth:
The Growth team defines the broader objectives and experiments: which audience we are trying to grow, what behaviour we are trying to change, what experiment we are running and how we will measure the result. You own the creative answer: what we should create, what the story is, how to tell it, what format to use, how to make it interesting, and how to publish and distribute it well. You will not be expected to independently own Bardge's entire growth strategy.
What Great Content at Bardge Looks Like:
- A video showing someone walking into a gym and using their Bardge benefit.
- A founder explaining why employee wellness benefits often go unused.
- A provider explaining how Bardge brings new customers into their gym.
- A short video showing five gyms someone can access through their HMO benefit.
- A story about an employee who discovered their health plan already included gym access.
- A behind-the-scenes look at launching Bardge with a new HMO.
- A LinkedIn post explaining what Bardge learned after processing thousands of wellness visits.
- A series highlighting interesting gyms and spas in the Bardge network.
- A campaign encouraging customers who have not visited a gym recently to return.
We are not interested in generic content such as "Five reasons exercise is good for you." The internet already has enough of that.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in content creation, social media management, community management, brand storytelling or a related role.
- Exceptional writing skills and a real understanding of how social media works, especially LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.
- Ability to tell stories rather than simply produce promotional posts, with strong visual taste.
- Can shoot good content with a phone, edit short-form video, and is comfortable behind the camera directing other people.
- Hands-on with Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools, Figma or similar creative software, and uses AI tools to improve research, writing, ideation and production.
- Works independently, moves quickly, and can turn a rough idea from a founder or teammate into something publishable.
- Naturally curious about customers, businesses and people, and comfortable experimenting and learning from data.
- Actively finds stories rather than waiting for every idea to be handed over. If a new gym joins Bardge, a HMO launches Bardge to thousands of members, or customers start behaving differently, you see the story. This is not a role for someone whose main experience is scheduling three posts a week, or who measures success primarily by follower count.
- Bonus: startup experience; a background in fitness, wellness, healthcare or consumer technology; experience interviewing customers, producing founder-led content, managing creators or influencers, or creating content for both B2B and consumer audiences; basic understanding of paid social, SEO and analytics tools.
- Must own a laptop, smartphone, and have reliable internet access.
What Success Looks Like:
Within your first few months, Bardge should have a recognizable and consistent content style, a predictable publishing rhythm, significantly more original video content, regular provider and customer stories, more employees, providers and partners sharing Bardge content, a stronger LinkedIn presence, growing consumer awareness, clear evidence of which types of content drive engagement and customer behaviour, and a growing library of reusable content featuring Bardge customers, providers and partners.
You Will Thrive Here If You:
- Notice stories other people miss, and see a normal product launch and immediately think of five ways to turn it into content.
- Can walk into a gym with your phone and leave with enough material for several posts.
- Understand internet culture but do not need to chase every trend.
- Care about quality, but do not allow perfection to stop you from publishing.
- Are comfortable in an environment where the company is moving quickly and the story is still being written, and you enjoy making interesting things.
Benefits:
- Compensation: ₦250,000 - ₦350,000 /month
- Bardge Gym & Spa Pass worth up to ₦500,000/annum
- Health Insurance
- Work directly with founders on strategy and execution, with real ownership and autonomy
- Remote-friendly setup
- Chance to shape a category-defining wellness infrastructure company
