Role Description

This is a part-time, remote Content Writer role. The Content Writer will research business and technology topics related to the Middle East, develop article ideas, and write clear, engaging web content such as news pieces, features, and explainers.

Day-to-day tasks include gathering information from reliable sources, interviewing stakeholders when needed, drafting and revising articles, and adapting content to Qojo Media’s editorial style and audience.

The role also involves collaborating with editors to refine story angles, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and optimizing content for digital publishing. The Content Writer will meet agreed deadlines, respond to editorial feedback, and contribute ideas for ongoing coverage and special series.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Web Content Writing and Writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and audience-appropriate articles.
• Candidates should possess solid Content Strategy and Research skills to identify relevant topics, develop story angles, and support claims with credible data and sources.
• Candidates should possess accurate Proofreading skills and attention to detail to ensure grammatical correctness, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
• Strong written communication skills in English, including the ability to explain complex business and technology topics in accessible language.
• Experience writing for digital publications, blogs, or news outlets, preferably on business, finance, or technology topics.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Familiarity with the Middle East’s business and tech landscape is highly beneficial; prior regional reporting or analysis experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Economics, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
