Cybersecurity Engagement & Awareness Lead

Position Description

We manage a vast array of Enterprise IT and Operational Technologies (OT) which reside in our state-of-the art data centres, in our power generation plants, and in our critical operations centres – all requiring the appropriate level of security to protect our business.

Together, these technologies support our critical national infrastructure, and the CISO team are looking for talented, personable and ambitious candidates to fill the role of Cybersecurity Engagement & Awareness Lead.

Successful candidates will have a key role in shaping how cybersecurity is delivered to meet business goals, supporting major change imperatives and in enabling ESB’s transition to a digital utility in line with regulatory requirements.

We are seeking to attract candidates who have relevant experience in engagement, change, training and awareness. The Cybersecurity Engagement & Awareness Lead is a culture and change-focused role who works in close collaboration with cybersecurity, business and vendor teams to deliver and report on the cybersecurity engagement and awareness programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve ESB's cybersecurity engagement and awareness program to effectively support cybersecurity behaviours in our people through communication of ESB cybersecurity policies and requirements so that people know, understand, and can follow them.
• Supporting the Cyber Readiness, Preparedness & Assurance Lead to ensure response plans, escalation arrangements, exercises, tabletop simulations and resilience assurance activities are conducted in a consistent and measurable manner.
• Provide leadership and mentorship on cybersecurity awareness, training, documentation, and knowledge management across ESB in collaboration with Business Units through a cybersecurity champion network.
• Develop and maintain training & awareness and readiness metrics, maturity measures and cybersecurity preparedness reporting for senior leadership.
• Provide engagement and awareness-related status reports and metrics to stakeholders including ESB’s security council, senior management, auditors and regulators.
• Support the delivery of exercising, testing & validation activities and cybersecurity training through capability reviews, role-based tailoring and innovative delivery methods.
• Build effective working relationships with regulators, industry groups and specialist external partners as required.
• Support cybersecurity incident response process through leading Lessons Learned and post incident/simulation improvements.
• Support the development, coordination and evidencing ESB's cyber resilience preparedness capability across the organisation.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, including experience delivering cultural and change programmes for organisations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to lead and influence change and to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrable ability to develop and grow new capabilities and skills related to cybersecurity.
• Organisational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems.
• Be proactive in innovative self-learning and research with proven ability to translate it into cultural and change programmes of work.

Desirable

• Familiarity or background with Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management or Incident Response and the cyber threat landscape.
• Related third-level degree and Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CBCI, ISO 22301, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Power BI.
• Previous experience working in the Utility Industry would be a bonus.

Location

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Occasional travel to business unit locations may be required as part of this role.

Reporting To

The successful candidate will report to the Cyber Readiness, Preparedness & Assurance Lead, CISO, CIO, Enterprise Services.

Salary

€59,000 - €70,500 per annum (depending on experience)
