Cybersecurity instructor (Onsite Ikeja)

Role Description The Cybersecurity Instructor (Onsite Ikeja) is a contract role responsible for delivering high-quality cybersecurity training to learners at IJAN Africa’s Ikeja location. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and updating course materials, teaching foundational and advanced cybersecurity concepts, and guiding learners through hands-on labs, simulations, and projects. The instructor will assess learner performance through assignments, quizzes, and practical evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support learners in building job-ready portfolios. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with the academic team to align content with industry standards, participating in curriculum reviews, and occasionally contributing to workshops or info sessions that promote cybersecurity education.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of core cybersecurity domains such as network security, application security, identity and access management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, penetration testing tools, encryption and authentication mechanisms).
• Ability to design and deliver structured learning content, including lesson plans, slides, labs, and assessments tailored to beginner and intermediate learners.
• Strong instructional, mentoring, and classroom management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give effective feedback and support diverse learners.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent professional credentials are highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience in cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated experience working in or teaching cybersecurity within a training institution, bootcamp, or corporate environment is an advantage.
