Job title: Data Analyst Developer
Location: Birmingham, hybrid
Salary: £45,000–£48,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits
Key technologies: Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, DAX and Power Query
About The Company
Vivo Talent is recruiting on behalf of a business investing in modern data and analytics capabilities. The organisation is focused on making information more accessible, reliable and useful across its teams. By improving how data is managed, analysed and presented, it aims to support informed decision-making and deliver meaningful business improvements. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the development of reporting solutions and cloud-based data capabilities in a collaborative environment.
About The Role
As a Data Analyst Developer, you will help develop and deliver data, analytics and reporting solutions that enable teams to make better-informed decisions. This is a hands-on technical role combining dashboard development, data transformation, modelling and stakeholder engagement. You will work with tools including Power BI and Tableau, use SQL to investigate and prepare data, and contribute to solutions built on platforms such as Snowflake.
You will collaborate with technical colleagues and business stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve data challenges and improve existing reporting processes. The role also provides scope to explore emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and identify practical ways to enhance analytical capabilities. The position is based in Birmingham with hybrid working.
Qualifications
You will bring practical experience creating and maintaining dashboards or reports in Power BI and/or Tableau, together with a sound working knowledge of SQL. Experience using DAX, Power Query, data modelling and row-level security in Power BI will be valuable. You should understand how to structure reporting data and build dependable solutions that provide accurate, consistent information.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, and technologies including dbt or Azure data services is beneficial. You will also have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to investigate complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Good organisation, attention to data quality and the ability to manage competing priorities are important. Equivalent practical experience is welcome.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and enhance interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and Tableau. Extract, transform and analyse data from multiple sources using SQL, Snowflake, Alteryx and other relevant tools. Build and support reporting models, data pipelines and automated refresh processes, helping ensure information is timely, accurate and reliable.
Translate complex datasets into clear visualisations and useful insights for business stakeholders. Work with technical teams and business users to clarify requirements, investigate data issues and improve existing reporting processes. Contribute to the development and migration of cloud-based analytics solutions, including Snowflake and other modern data platforms. Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and identify opportunities to improve reporting, data management and decision-making. Support delivery against agreed priorities and deadlines while maintaining appropriate data quality standards.
Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary of £45,000–£48,000 per annum, excellent benefits and hybrid working in Birmingham. You will have the opportunity to work with established business intelligence tools and modern data technologies, develop your technical capabilities, and contribute to improvements with visible value across the organisation. Further details about the benefits package and working arrangements are available during the application process.
Equal Opportunity
Vivo Talent is committed to a fair and inclusive recruitment process. Applications are welcomed from people of all backgrounds and experiences. Candidates will be considered on their skills, experience and suitability for the role, without discrimination on any protected or personal characteristic.
