About Infrapick Ltd
Infrapick is an independent Data Center Services & Capacity Intelligence company focused on Africa.
We are developing Infrapick Site Intelligence, a capability designed to support data center developers, operators and investors during the early stages of location and site selection.
As part of this initiative, Infrapick is building its first Data Center Development Intelligence Dataset covering priority development corridors across the wider Lagos–Ogun area.
We are recruiting four paid Research Interns, with each intern taking primary responsibility for one development corridor.
Research Areas:
- Position 1 — Lagos Core / Western Axis
- Position 2 — Lagos– Ibadan Development Axis
- Position 3 — Ikorodu–Ogun Axis
- Position 4 — Lekki–Epe / Eastern Development Axis
Your Mission
Over the 8-week research programme, you will build a structured infrastructure intelligence baseline for your assigned corridor across five dimensions: Power Infrastructure, Fiber & Connectivity, Flood & Natural Risk, Land, Infrastructure & Accessibility and Regulatory & Environmental.
How You Will Work
This is primarily a desktop research assignment.
Research will be conducted using government and regulatory publications, utility and infrastructure operator information, GIS and satellite data, planning documents, recognised infrastructure databases and other reliable sources.
Local field validation may occasionally be requested where a specific information gap cannot reasonably be resolved through desktop research.
All interns will use the same Infrapick Site Intelligence Data Collection Framework to allow consolidation and comparison across the four corridors.
Candidate Profile
We welcome students and recent graduates in:
* Electrical / Power Engineering
* Telecommunications Engineering
* GIS / Geomatics / Geography
* Civil Engineering
* Environmental Engineering / Sciences
* Urban & Regional Planning
* Infrastructure-related disciplines
Previous data center experience is not required.
You should be:
* Rigorous and curious
* Comfortable conducting investigative research
* Able to work independently
* Comfortable with technical information
* Attentive to source reliability
* Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets
* Able to communicate clearly in English
Knowledge of QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth or similar tools is an advantage.
