SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $57,000 and $61,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Handles social media management, including drafting, scheduling/posting, and engaging, with a focus on balancing variety and volume in support of furthering overall Handles inquires received through MFS’ social platforms. Manages Communications Department’s Spout Social (social media) platform. Measures, analyzes and reports on MFS social media communications; develops and maximizes the effectiveness of content strategies. Provides comprehensive monthly reports using Sprout Social. Develops and distributes emails working with the Salesforce/Marketing Cloud and GoFundMePro (fundraising) platforms, in partnership with the Communications Manager. Writes and edits compelling, accurate and information-rich content for digital platforms and print collateral. Designs elements including graphics, templates, and filters geared toward online assets; assists with print collateral design and touch-up as Monitors news coverage daily and provides bimonthly written reports to the Senior Director of Communications on information/trends relevant to MFS, its communities and the human services sector. Acquires and maintains detailed knowledge of MFS programs and Centers, branding, and relevant processes, and stays up to date with Supports general External Affairs communications, working with the Communications team, broader External Affairs department, and staff throughout the agency. Attends special events held by the External Affairs Department, providing social media/communications support as needed. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in multimedia communications, journalism, marketing or a related field. Required 2-3+ years of experience in marketing/communications or related field. Required Experience with Salesforce & Marketing Cloud. Experience with Canva Bilingual (Spanish). Preferred Knowledge with SEO, SEM, (Google Analytics, social media advertising).Photography and/or videography Experience with Adobe Suite KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: A positive and proactive professional who is creative, collaborative and teachable, someone who treats all with respect. As an organized self-starter, you shine when no task is too big or too small. A solutions-oriented ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to new projects and timelines: you work well in a dynamic, high-volume environment. Excellent writing and editing skills. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in creating, reviewing, and proofing materials. Develop content for myriad multimedia platforms, styles, and formats. Capture the organizational voice of MFS and are able to “workshop” the work of others to meet the agency’s standards of branding, relevance, and timeliness. Interest and enjoy learning new software and technology tools, and keep current with changes/trends. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, to establish and maintain effective working partnerships: you’re excited to communicate with and on behalf of all our external and internal stakeholders, a population composed of diverse cultures and age groups. TRAVEL/MOBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel between agency sites, the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield, and offices of legislators and government officials as needed.
