At Viridian, we are focused on developing best-in-class medicines for people living with autoimmune and rare diseases. Leveraging our team’s expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Supply Chain, the Director, International Supply Chain will lead the planning and execution of Viridian’s international commercial supply chain, with primary accountability for external supply partners and the labeling, packaging, and delivery of finished goods for markets outside the United States. This individual contributor role will operate with significant autonomy and provide matrix leadership across Supply Chain, External Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, and Legal to build launch-ready, compliant, resilient, and scalable supply capabilities.

The successful candidate will translate market and launch requirements into executable supply plans, govern international vendors, anticipate supply risks, and ensure that packaging configurations, country-specific labeling, inventory positioning, and distribution readiness support launch and ongoing commercial supply continuity.

This role is fully remote and based in the UK. Travel to US headquarters or to international meetings may be required at the discretion of management.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Own international commercial supply planning for finished goods, translating demand forecasts, launch sequencing, regulatory timelines, and market requirements into feasible labeling, packaging, release, inventory, and replenishment plans
  • Lead the operational strategy and execution for country-specific and regional labeling and packaging, including artwork and component readiness, pack configuration, serialization and traceability requirements, change implementation, and coordination of market launch quantities
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of international supply chain vendors, including logistics providers, depots, distributors, and other external partners supporting commercial supply
  • Establish supplier governance through business reviews, service-level expectations, KPIs, issue escalation, decision logs, action tracking, and risk-based performance management
  • Partner with Regulatory, Quality, Commercial, and local market stakeholders to ensure supply plans reflect approved product information, market authorization timing, quality release requirements, and local operational needs
  • Develop launch readiness plans and integrated timelines for new countries, new presentations, and lifecycle changes; identify critical-path dependencies and drive timely cross-functional decisions
  • Lead inventory and supply risk management for international finished goods, including scenario planning, safety-stock strategy, expiry exposure, allocation priorities, shortage prevention, and business continuity planning
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and supply planning teams to align bulk product, drug product, packaging components, finished goods, and distribution capacity with international demand
  • Support vendor selection, onboarding, contracting, and transitions by defining requirements, evaluating proposals, aligning quality and operational expectations, and ensuring implementation readiness
  • Partner with Finance and functional stakeholders on budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, invoice review, accruals, and variance analysis for the international commercial supply network
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning processes, master data, governance, reporting, packaging operations, cost, lead times, and supply reliability
  • Represent International Supply Chain in cross-functional launch teams and leadership forums, owning recommendations and driving decisions on readiness, risks, trade-offs, priorities, and required actions that affect international launch execution and commercial supply continuity
  • Ensure activities are performed in accordance with applicable GMP/GDP requirements, company procedures, quality agreements, and regulatory commitments
  • Build scalable processes and operating models that can support geographic expansion and future product launches

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline required; advanced degree or relevant professional certification preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience, including substantial experience in commercial supply chain, external manufacturing, packaging/labeling, logistics, or related GMP operations
  • Demonstrated ability to shape functional strategy, translate complex launch and market requirements into operational plans, and drive execution across internal teams and external partners
  • Direct experience planning and supporting international or multi-market commercial launches, including country-specific labeling and packaging requirements
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end pharmaceutical supply chains and the interfaces among Supply Chain, CMC, External Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, and market organizations
  • Proven success managing CMOs, contract packaging organizations, third-party logistics providers, distributors, and/or other external supply partners through structured governance and performance management
  • Working knowledge of GMP/GDP expectations, quality release, serialization/traceability, artwork and labeling control, cold-chain or specialty distribution considerations, and import/export activities relevant to international finished goods
  • Experience with demand and supply planning, inventory strategy, launch readiness, scenario analysis, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning
  • Ability to resolve complex and ambiguous cross-functional issues, balance cost, service, compliance, and risk, and make sound recommendations with incomplete information
  • Demonstrated success leading through influence, aligning senior stakeholders, and negotiating matters of significance without reliance on direct reporting authority
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and executive-level communication skills; able to operate with significant autonomy, sound judgment, and high accountability in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
