Director of Procurement (Remote MapleCraft Engineers) Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per year Job Type: Full-time | Remote (Must be based in North America) Are you a procurement leader who thrives on negotiation, strategy, and supplier relationships? At MapleCraft Engineers, we are looking for a Director of Procurement to lead and optimize our procurement operations, manage vendor relationships, and drive efficiency across our supply chain. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of project equipment, materials, and services ensuring our engineering teams have everything they need to deliver successful projects. What You'll Do As our Director of Procurement, you will lead the procurement function, ensuring that MapleCraft Engineers secures the best materials, equipment, and services while maintaining strong vendor relationships and cost efficiency. Your key responsibilities will include: Procurement Strategy & Operations - Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project requirements and business objectives. - Manage the procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and vendor selection to contract negotiation and execution. - Oversee purchasing of project-related equipment, materials, and subcontractor services, ensuring on-time delivery and cost efficiency. - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to forecast material and equipment needs. Vendor & Supplier Management - Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors. - Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure the best value and service quality. - Conduct supplier performance evaluations, ensuring compliance withcost, quality, and delivery standards. - Identify new suppliers and strategic partnerships to enhance procurement capabilities. Cost Optimization & Supply Chain Efficiency - Drive cost savings through supplier consolidation, strategic sourcing, and bulk purchasing strategies. - Identify opportunities for improving supply chain efficiency and reducing procurement risks. - Develop inventory management strategies, ensuring optimal stock levels without excessive costs. Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations, ethical standards, and company policies. - Implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions. - Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting, providing insights for continuous improvement. What We are Looking For Were looking for a strong leader with a deep understanding of procurement in the engineering and construction industry. You should have the ability to navigate vendor negotiations, manage supply chains, and optimize procurement processes in a way that supports our growing operations. Required Qualifications & Experience 10+ years of procurement experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or industrial sectors. Proven expertise in procurement strategy, supplier management, contract negotiations, and cost optimization. Strong experience in sourcing project equipment, heavy machinery, and engineering materials. Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and operations teams. Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, MCIPS, CPSM) are a plus. Experience with inventory control, risk management, and logistics coordination. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable contract terms.
