About the role


As Director of Product, you will lead the product strategy and roadmap for Innovasea’s aquaculture technology portfolio, translating customer needs, market opportunities, and technical capabilities into products that improve fish health, operational efficiency, and production outcomes.



Innovasea is seeking a full-time Director of Product to work with a cross-functional team of sales, marketers, architects, software developers, and engineers. In this role, you will guide and direct our digital strategy, define and prioritize product roadmaps, and guide new requirements from concept to launch. This position can be based in Bedford, NS or remote EST/ATL Canada; Boston, MA or remote EST USA; or Bergen, Norway.


Note remote Eastern USA or CANADA candidates need to be able to travel to Bedford NS or Boston MA once a month.

Reporting to the Vice President of Aquaculture Technology, the Director of Product will combine leadership, technical judgment, and communication skills to lead, plan and coordinate product activities to ensure delivery goals are met. The role will foster strong collaboration across company divisions and functions, creating a positive team environment built on clear communication and shared accountability.

What you’ll be doing

    • Has successfully led both hardware and software product organizations.
    • Can define and implement a product operating model and organizational structure.
    • Has experience managing a portfolio of products across different maturities and technologies.
    • Can mentor a team of Product Managers/Product Owners.
    • Brings a clear vision for product strategy, lifecycle management, roadmap governance, and prioritization.
    • Coordinate with Marketing to drive go-to-market strategies, supporting collateral, and product training materials for new product releases.

    Required Skills and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
      • 10+ years of product management experience.
      • Experience driving product development through discovery, roadmap planning, development, launch, and post-launch iteration.
      • 10+ years leading product organizations responsible for both hardware and software products, including cloud/SaaS platforms, connected devices, and data-driven solutions.
      • Experience building or transforming Product Management organizations, including team design, governance, roadmap management, and portfolio prioritization.
      • Demonstrated success leading complex multi-disciplinary product portfolios that span engineering, software, operations, and commercialization functions
      • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, engineering, and software development teams.
      • Ability to travel to domestic and international events in the US and Europe as required.


      Nice to Have

      • Experience developing business-to-business internet products and technologies.
      • Technical experience with integrated hardware and software products and technologies.
      • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
      • Understanding of the ecosystem of services and products supporting the aquaculture industry.
