Our portfolio includes trusted programs such as SPIRE®, SPIRE Up®, and Wordly Wise 3000®, supporting students across all tiers of instruction through print, digital, and blended learning solutions. We partner with districts nationwide to strengthen literacy outcomes and expand access to ESSA-aligned, evidence-based practices. If you are motivated by meaningful work and want to help improve literacy outcomes for students across the country, you’ll find a collaborative, mission-driven team at EPS Learning committed to making a difference in classrooms every day. Position Summary The Director of Proposal Management is a strategic leader responsible for transforming opportunities into winning business. Leading all aspects of proposal management, this role drives the creation of persuasive, high-quality RFX responses and proposals that showcase EPS Learning's value and support revenue growth. This role oversees and executes on the day-to-day bid and contract operations; partners with Sales and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, manage timelines, assign resources, ensure compliance, and support proposal follow-up activities; and maintains the systems, content, and vendor relationships needed to strengthen proposal quality, operational efficiency, and business outcomes. Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, including opportunity review, proposal strategy, production planning, submission, and follow-up activities. Develop goals, timelines, workflows, and objectives for proposal-related projects to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with client requirements. Source, review, and analyze RFXs, and other sales opportunities to identify risks, requirements, strategic fit, and recommended pursuit priorities. Direct proposal work by coordinating meetings and communications, assigning writing responsibilities, managing production schedules, and ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, Technology, Customer Support, and other stakeholders. Drive proposal strategy and translate that strategy into clear, compelling, compliant responses in partnership with EPS’s subject matter experts that reflect client needs, product/program strengths, pricing considerations, and organizational differentiators. Manage proposal logistics, including calendars, kick-off meetings, review cycles, content collection, production and costing schedules, final approvals, and submission requirements. Support Sales team members with contract-related documents and questions, including renewal letters, certifications, tax forms, legal forms, evidence of insurance, employer verification, and customer- or contract-specific forms. Serve as the primary liaison for proposal/procurement relationships and coordinate with external vendors, cooperative partners, and other third parties as needed. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a database of standard proposal responses, product/program descriptions, supporting documentation, and reusable content using AI forward technology. Train and support Account Executives, Regional Sales Leaders, and other internal partners on proposal processes, expectations, tools, and best practices. Serve as a liaison with Customer Support, Technology, and other stakeholders for data privacy questions and customer requests related to bids, proposals, and contracts. Monitor proposal performance, market trends, competitive questions, regulatory changes, and industry standards related to contracts, bids, and educational sales opportunities. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, cooperative partners, and external proposal collaborators. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, journalism, communications, or a related field required; advanced degree or equivalent leadership experience preferred. 7+ years of progressive experience in proposal management, RFP/RFX response development, bid strategy, and complex sales support, including experience leading high-value or strategically important pursuits. Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end proposal development processes, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and driving teams toward compliant, compelling, on-time submissions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate priorities, build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex requirements into clear proposal strategies. Exceptional attention to detail and project management discipline, with the ability to manage multiple complex, deadline-driven proposals simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, including leading virtual teams, facilitating decision-making, and maintaining accountability across distributed stakeholders. Experience with proposal automation, content management, CRM, contract management, or workflow systems preferred. Prior experience with K-12 literacy curriculum, education technology, or instructional materials preferred, including an understanding of how educational products are sold, implemented, and supported. Benefits and Perks We offer a competitive compensation package based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. Other rewards include an annual bonus or commission, a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous PTO, sick and paid holidays, as well as employer paid life and short & long term disability insurance. We provide you with a laptop for your home office and a flexible remote-first work culture. Compensation Range: The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year. The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, such as the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, location, and market conditions. Base pay is one component of EPS Learning's total compensation package, which also includes a generous benefits package, 401k plan, as well as bonus or commission. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. Our organization is dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply! You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. Please be sure to attach your resume. Applications without an attached resume will be considered incomplete.
