Education Committee Member

Organization: Pennsylvania Doula Commission (PADC)

Location: Remote (Pennsylvania-based preferred)

Time Commitment: Up to 5 hours per week

Overview: The Pennsylvania Doula Commission (PADC) is committed to advancing maternal health through education. As a member of the Education Committee, you will be instrumental in addressing the educational needs of Pennsylvania Doulas, ensuring they are equipped to make a significant impact in maternal health. You will assess and validate classes and workshops for Continuing Education Units (CEUs), working collaboratively with PADC and the Pennsylvania Certification Board.

Responsibilities:

● Identify and address the educational needs of doulas across Pennsylvania.

● Evaluate and approve educational content, including classes and workshops, for CEU eligibility.

● Collaborate closely with the Pennsylvania Certification Board to ensure alignment with certification requirements.

● Assist in the development and implementation of educational initiatives that support the professional growth of doulas.

● Provide input on curriculum development, ensuring it meets the standards and needs of the doula profession.

Qualifications:

● Leadership: Strong ability to lead educational initiatives and influence positive outcomes.

● Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage educational content and related processes.

● Communication: Proficient in both written and verbal communication for clear articulation of educational standards and feedback.

● Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with a diverse team, including PADC leadership and the PA Certification Board.

● Project Management: Experience in overseeing projects from inception to completion, particularly in educational contexts.

● Research: Ability to conduct thorough research to validate educational content and its relevance.

● Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
