Role Description The Elevator Mechanic role is a full-time remote position focused on supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of elevator and escalator systems for clients across Nigeria. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and carrying out corrective repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation. The Elevator Mechanic will collaborate with on-site teams to coordinate installation schedules, guide modernization work such as controller upgrades and inverter integration, and document all service activities in line with company and regulatory standards. This role requires remote technical support via calls and digital tools, occasional travel to client sites when needed, and strict adherence to safety protocols and compliance requirements. The Elevator Mechanic will also assist in planning preventive maintenance, advising clients on system performance, and supporting emergency response efforts.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Elevator Maintenance and Elevators, with experience in inspection, servicing, and performance optimization of lift systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair skills, including diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess practical knowledge of Electricity as it applies to elevator systems, including controllers, wiring, motors, and safety circuits.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical engineering is highly beneficial.
- Experience working with multi-brand elevator systems and familiarity with modern controllers and inverters is an advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings, service manuals, and electrical schematics, and to maintain accurate service documentation.
- Strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and quality standards, with the ability to follow and enforce procedures.
- Effective communication skills, ability to support clients and field teams remotely, and willingness to travel to sites when required.
